We ordered beer and appetizers...the shrimp and octopus ceviche and the shrimp queso. These were great! The real queso with the real cheese. This was delicious. The beers were nice and cold but the wait time on the beers and food was a little slow. We ate outside and it was gorgeous with the right amount of shade and sun.... More

We were greeted by the owner for our early supper. He proceeded to wait on us throughout our meal, and he gave us a great historical perspective of his restaurant and his heritage, growing up in the Yucatan Peninsula. We talked about great Mexican restaurants in Chicago, including Rick Bayless' restaurants, and shared stories about our love of Mexican dishes.... More

When my wife and I first arrived we took a little walk around town. We had already eaten and weren't hungry when we passed by Casa Maya. I saw the octopus ceviche and knew I needed to come back. We planned on the following day but they were closed. Slow season in St Augustine. So we stopped by the next... More

Had a wonderful lunch today at Casa Maya. For starters we had the special of the day - octopus ceviche. Out of this world. Fresh, well seasoned and well presented. I find many restaurants around over-salting their food but this was just nice and very enjoyable. I ordered the vegetarian burrito and my mom the huinic sandwich. My burrito was... More

Excellent restaurant, a bit pricey but well worth it. Not the kind of food you find in a regular Mexican restaurant. Unique and delicious food. Great servers too. Don't miss it!

The food is authentic and flavorful. Small potions for price, though. Unusual that our iced tea was served in small plastic cups when the bar obviously had large glasses, including Mason jar mugs. This led to frequent refills and cheapened the experience for such a price. Guess they reserve glass for alcoholic beverages, including their famous sangria.

September 5th and 7th, 2014 We were headed to the restaurant across the street and they were full and it was near closing time, so we crossed the street and so glad we did! We sat in the courtyard and it was perfect! We started off with shrimp Ceviche, probably the best I've ever had and guacamole dip. Since it... More

We had shrimp Ceviche, probably the best I've ever had, black bean soup to fit for and a tempeh entree that was very good. The wire wine sangria and service were also very good. Well be back!

My wife, Joan, and I were vacationing in St. Augustine last week. We ate at several restaurants while we were there. One of our last meals there was at Casa Maya. The food was excellent and our waiter " Victor" was outstanding. He helped us select the wine to go with our dinner and it was perfect. He was very... More
