This restaurant is the perfect blend of Greek and Polish food! The tzatziki/pita bread appetizer was the best I've ever had and was super fresh! The pirogies were sautéed perfectly and the Greek spinach pie was bomb!! Definitely go to Gaufres!

While wandering around the city we were looking for a place for lunch. We came across this and though, why not. As you enter there are about 12 tables and you are greeted by the waitresses and seated. There is a small selection, but several specials are available. I am not familiar with Polish or Greek food very much, but... More

This little place and I mean small is tucked away on a very old street in St. Augustine. It is what I call a hidden gem. The food is outstanding. Great Borsht Soup, the tastes of fresh beets is wonderful. It had an interesting mushroom dumpling which we had never had and it was quite good. The Greek salad was... More

Absolutely delicious homemade beef barley soup and borscht with homemade mushroom dumplings. Our server, Stacy, was really delightful, and she loves serving wonderful food made with care. We also enjoyed a sampler platter of eggplant, hummus and tzatziki served with olives and warm pita. They're moving to a larger space next week and they need it to make space for... More

We stopped at Gaufres after visiting the Spanish Military Hospital Museum. We ordered from the Polish menu (there are other Greek restaurants in town), and got 3 entrees to share, and Polish beer (a must!). Wow, what a meal! Real home cooking like it should be! They even had Polish cake with poppyseed, which I hadn't tasted in many years,... More

"Gaufres" is a French term for a waffle you powder with sugar and top with sweet treats. But that sweet treat not the reason to dine here. This tiny gem of a restaurant specializes in traditional Greek and Polish fare. The folks working there love food, are knowledgeable epicureans and they take tremendous pride in what they serve. The decor,... More

What this location lacks in space; it makes up for in taste and friendliness. Very unassuming restaurant. Bistro sized tables with mod podge seating and decor..but the food and service was GREAT. Saurkraut Peirogi's were delish! Potato and cheese were equally yummy. Everyone should try the Coconut soup. Wow! Our server brought us a sample of both of their signature... More

Have eaten here several times last year while working on Aviles Street and have returned (including on my birthday this year) even since completing my work on that street. It is worth coming back for!! Gaufres (which means WAFFLES)&Goods are a quaint, charming European style bistro in the heart of historic downtown St. Augustine. They do not have many tables,... More

My daughter and I were walking along Aviles Street in downtown St. Augustine looking to have a late lunch. Saw this small shop that says they have Greek and Polish food. Our waitress was very good and explained the order of 6 pierogies( different fillings), have to do the onions and bacon ( did not try the boiled one). Also... More

We ate at Gaufres & Goods last year when we went to St. Augustine & had a wonderful experience. This time it wasn't as good but it was ok. We went in the evening & there were young kids working. They were more interested in socializing with each other than taking care of the customers. The young lady we had... More
