A little piece of France

We stopped for lunch in St. Augustine on our way to West Palm Beach, and a very chic young lady suggested we try Bistro de Leon, and so we did. It's a small place in a storefront in the old city across from the Old City Market. But the food is fantastic. If you enjoy French cuisine, then Bistro de Leon is for you. Marvelous.

Four of us went in for the $30 fixed price 3 course meal ($25 if you go early) and all were very satisfied. The appetizer and main course (seafood) were ample and very tasty. The dessert crêpe left a little to be desired but we felt the meal was a good value. The atmosphere was convivial and we would certainly... More

Well located and authentic French bistro. After exploring the historic streets of St. Augustine, this spot is a quiet and cool place for lunch or dinner. Always good

We stopped here for a late breakfast after walking to the lighthouse and back from downtown. The temperature inside was a little warm at first but they quickly adjusted the air conditioning. The tables are positioned close to each other. This is perfect for my husband because he loves to make new friends. It was easy to strike up a... More

i loved this restaurant. The food used to be very Europaen but I dont't know what happened. It seems to me that the chef (who can cook that you want to lick the plate after) does not care anymore. When he is cooking the food is delicious, when his staff is alone in the kitchen the quality drops dramatically. Also... More

Noticed mixed reviews on this site and that was our experience...overall, probably would not go back. My sense is the owner is not very customer oriented....far from what we have enjoyed in other small owner operated Bistros ( he is the chef but never saw him ....at most ten customers there at any given time while we were there....not like... Food very poor quality - "vegetable" soup flavored with bacon (?), fish served was not fit for pets, couldn't eat, dessert was less than expected. Pass this one up.

Poor service, just okay food. The cheese plate was good, but not great. Sandwhiches were a dissapointment. Slow to come out in an empty restuarant as well. Overall, not great.

Great food and the staff are friendly and efficient. At times food can be a little slow coming out of the kitchen so don't go if you're in a hurry. Also, stay away from the seafood crepe as it's probably the worst thing on the menu. Too bad being so close to the water they use canned seafood for the... More
