We were really surprised by just how good the food is at this restaurant which seems to be a long way from anywhere. The waiting staff were very helpful and recommended we tried dishes completely new to us. Glad we did as the food was delicious, both well cooked and nicely presented. A good choice of wines and beers was... More

The Whip is a little bit of a drive, but well worth it. We ate, on the deck and were treated to a beautiful sunset. Our group all had sandwiches and each was delicious. The highlight was the turtles, not the fish, who stuck their heads up for a hand-out.

This place was recommended by the front desk person at our hotel. It looks very much like a fish camp and has a spectacular view of the lake. The surprising part is that they have a dozen-or-so item wine list, maybe 25 craft beers, and very, very good nightly specials. No fried food on the menu. Extremely good service. We... More

Surprisingly good food with the daily dinner specials. A bit over priced (about $25 per plate) for the atmosphere - but the porch lake front eating is why we come here. If you don't like the smell of the lake (a bit fishy) you won't care for it, but this is our third or fourth time back and we love... More

I haven't written in a long time on the whip but eat there all the time. So after a 100 meals there, I can truly say this is one of the best in North Florida the kitchen is still a little slow but not as bad as it was. The service is now so improved I don't have a comment.... More

My husband and I were actually looking for a different restaurant but it was closed so we were sent here by a local man out walking. It was great and we were glad to find it. The Cuban sandwich and brisket were both excellent; the homemade slaw and potato salad was just as the waitress described - outstanding! We'd go... More

Was driving across the Florida panhandle and was ready to stop for lunch so I searched tripadvisor for help and decided to try this place. It was very chilly so obviously there wasn’t anything going on at the Lake and I have to admit when I pulled up I wasn’t sure I was at the right place. As I pulled... More

This place is a gem in the ruff. The food is outstanding try the specials. Service was great we wanted for nothing. The fish and steak we had were cooked perfectly. Not what you would expect when you first pull into the parking lot. But go in you won't regret it.

Some of the reasons include its remote location, marina atmosphere and killer food. We were quite surprised and thororoughly enjoyed every minute and every morsel. The desserts were homemade and wonderfully delicious. The broccoli was very very good and so were the garlic mashed potatoes. The quesadillas were the best as were the two desserts we had, one at the... More

My husband and I ate here one night while we were in town. We were pleasantly surprised to find out how wonderful the food was. The food was seasond perfectly, the wait staff was great and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The only thing I can complain about was that the food was so good we overate. I highly... More
