We came for the fishing, but it rained, so the highlight of the trip was eating at the Whip. The first night we all had steak. Cut to the chase. Set right on Lake Talquin with illion dollar views, but you can wear your jeans and a T-shirt. Already the best of both worlds, right? Well, it gets better. The food is exceptionally good! The staff is fun and friendly, prices are reasonable and there's weekend entertainment. We love this place!

When we pulled up per our GPS directions, and could stop laughing by the fact that we actually were in the "right location", we went in, had the best service from Trish, and THE best, most awesome food imaginable - ANY where. This rustic eatery belies the 4 star menu awaiting inside. My father swears the steak is the best he EVER had and he's had a lot. The dinners ALWAYS please. If you're traveling on SR267 in the Lake Talquin area looking for a bite to eat or just looking to get away, check out "The Whip Waterfront Pub-N-Grub". Its probably 35-40 minutes from Tallahassee. We stopped by early on a Friday evening and had a very enjoyable experience. Good food, friendly service in a casual,rustic setting right on the lake....
