Description: Named by the locals as "The Whip". This casual restaurant sits right on top of spectacular Lake Talquin. The Whip features house-cut steaks, fresh seafood, and a selection of sandwiches & salads made with only the freshest ingredients. The Friday night low country shrimp boil packs the house. Experience the great atmosphere, hang out and enjoy an ice-cold beer or a glass of wine. Come watch an amazing sunset. Sorry, only one show daily. Great View... Good Food... Lousy Service. And oh yeah, you gotta see the white squirrels.

Surprisingly good food with the daily dinner specials. A bit over priced (about $25 per plate) for the atmosphere - but the porch lake front eating is why we come here. If you don't like the smell of the lake (a bit fishy) you won't care for it, but this is our third or fourth time back and we love... More

I haven't written in a long time on the whip but eat there all the time. So after a 100 meals there, I can truly say this is one of the best in North Florida the kitchen is still a little slow but not as bad as it was. The service is now so improved I don't have a comment.... More

My husband and I were actually looking for a different restaurant but it was closed so we were sent here by a local man out walking. It was great and we were glad to find it. The Cuban sandwich and brisket were both excellent; the homemade slaw and potato salad was just as the waitress described - outstanding! We'd go... More

Was driving across the Florida panhandle and was ready to stop for lunch so I searched tripadvisor for help and decided to try this place. It was very chilly so obviously there wasn’t anything going on at the Lake and I have to admit when I pulled up I wasn’t sure I was at the right place. As I pulled... More

This place is a gem in the ruff. The food is outstanding try the specials. Service was great we wanted for nothing. The fish and steak we had were cooked perfectly. Not what you would expect when you first pull into the parking lot. But go in you won't regret it.

Some of the reasons include its remote location, marina atmosphere and killer food. We were quite surprised and thororoughly enjoyed every minute and every morsel. The desserts were homemade and wonderfully delicious. The broccoli was very very good and so were the garlic mashed potatoes. The quesadillas were the best as were the two desserts we had, one at the... More

My husband and I ate here one night while we were in town. We were pleasantly surprised to find out how wonderful the food was. The food was seasond perfectly, the wait staff was great and the steaks were cooked to perfection. The only thing I can complain about was that the food was so good we overate. I highly... More

This is the 5th or 6th time we have been to The Whip ... Still GREAT food and the atmosphere cant be beat in the area. We sat out on the patio by the lake, as usual, and the view and sunset was magnificent. They do not have a liquor license so it's beer and wine only & they ran... More

If you are looking for very good food, friendly servers, and a beautiful, relaxing lakeside setting, give The Whip a try. It is off the beaten path, hidden in a somewhat rundown fisherman's lodge area. When you arrive, you will wonder if you are in the right place. The main path into the restaurant involves walking through a rather unsightly... More

This is one of the best places to relax and let your hair down. Good food, very nice atmosphere, and a beautiful scenic view of the lake . Dine in or out over the water.
