Description: FAILTE! [WELCOME!] The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda...
FAILTE! [WELCOME!] The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide! See you at the Ray, Slainte!

A Fine Little Irish Pub

The Celtic Ray building is divided, decor wise, into an older half and a newer half. Booth have excellent food and a wide selection of beers and spirits. It is very fair to say that they have a tasty assortment of traditional Irish dishes such as Guinness Stew, Bangers, Shepherd's Pie and several... read more

Walk straight up to the bar, order the fish and chips, find a seat and wait as patiently as you can for quite possibly the best fried fish you've ever had!

First, this is about as authentic an Irish Pub as you can find in the states with low ceiling, dark, and you order at the bar evening if you are dining at a table. They are knowledgeable about whiskey and beer. The owner is a humorous soul. Our meals were simple, Breton Chicken and Chicken Curry and both my wife... More

We agree that the fish on there Fish & Chips is the best we have had..light and airy batter, tender and flaky fish..but the Chips..were nothing to brag about, they were your run of the mill out of a frozen bag of non descript french fries..The small plate Sausage rolls were Excellent..with a tender flaky crust and unique dipping sauce..The... Stopped in The Celtic Ray yesterday for a few beers with my buddy Brad. Neither of us had been there in years. Great atmosphere, friendly folk hanging out and the bartender Laura sure know how to pull off a Guiness! Nice time and looking forward to going back to eat!

The Celtic Ray is place you must stop if you love Fish and Chips and Irish beer. Like an authentic Irish Pub, you order your food and drink from the bar. The beer selection is great and the Fish crispy and fresh. It's the best I've had in the States. Just like in Ireland, families with kids are encouraged to... More
