Description: FAILTE! [WELCOME!] The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda...
FAILTE! [WELCOME!] The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide! See you at the Ray, Slainte!

Unexpected

After a late drive around Punta Gorda, this was the only spot that was open. This turned out being the best place I ate at during my time in Florida. We were well greeted and the service was great. I had the fish and chips and it was the best fish and chips I had ever had. They have a... read more

My favorite place to eat an "authentic" Irish meal. The bartenders are friendly & knowledgeable about the many imported beer offered. Their food is delicious and serving size is generous! Bangers n mash, served with homemade bread, is my favorite. Lovely, just lovely...a must try!!!

We stopped in this place for a small snack and drink. We were very impressed. Brian the bartender was very knowledgeable about the beers, menu and all around helpful with anything we asked. The clietele is personable and engaging. This place is a great neighborhood bar. If we lived here it would be our spot. We tried the Scottish egg... More

We were in the Punta Gorda/Port Charlotte area to visit family for the weekend. On Sunday, we took a drive to explore the area. We saw the Celtic Ray on the way into the area, and we made it a point to find it again and stop in for a Guinness. We sat down at the bar, and immediately, Kansas... More

Ok, so I have never been a fan of Irish or Scottish pubs. I reluctantly accompanied my husband Friday night. Even as we walked in I wasn't sure I liked it. We sat at the bar in a perfect spot. We had the perfect bartender: Brian. I enjoyed a whiskey (or two) and my husband beer. I had the Guinness... More

I stopped here about 5 years ago and I am still raving about this place. Very unique pub. I just love the setting and atmosphere it provided.
