FAILTE! [WELCOME!]

The Celtic Ray Public House in downtown Punta Gorda opened in 1997 by Proprietor Kevin Doyle. At the time there wasn’t a single establishment in the area that offered a variety of quality imported beers and the atmosphere of a traditional Irish Pub. We serve only high-quality imported draught beers, bottled beers, ciders, fine wines, as well as, a selection of “soft” beverages. We also have expanded with the ‘other side’ and now have a full liquor bar! Our menu features traditional Irish Pub favorites made from fresh ingredients and family recipes.

The Celtic Ray’s Fish & Chips are famous worldwide!
See you at the Ray, Slainte!

This is the real deal. Order your food at the bar and find a table. They will bring it when it is ready. I have never had a bad meal, here, and the music is a plus

Went with some friends to hear Brendan Nolan perform and we had the fish and chips-we shared-and had Guiness and Boddingtons Pub Ale and Both were poured with Perfection! We would go again! It is just like Ireland! The Owner was even walking around and helping and talking with patrons! This is a typical Irish Bar-Serve yourself at the end... More

Good Morning Alan, We are thrilled to hear that your first experience at the Ray was a good one. The owner, Kevin Doyle, can often be found walking around and telling jokes to all our patrons (watch out, he's known to tell the same joke a few times). We hope that you come back to see us soon and listen... More

We were taken here by some friends we were visiting in the area who have eaten here many times before and recommended it to us. There were renovations going on in the pub they were renovating their kitchen but they still managed to serve an excellent lunch of fish & chips and we loved it. You order your food &... More

Good Morning Christie, Thank you for your review on the Celtic Ray; we appreciate you taking the time to leave us one. From St James City to Punta Gorda to have fun is only for the young at heart. When an English buddy of mine invited me and offer Designated Driver, I jumped all over the invite. Upon arriving, I looked for "Filthy" and "Filth" per another reviewer (you may look me up under captgiddydotnet) and found this complaint false, misleading, and... More

When in Punta Gorda, we make it a point to stop in for a pint. The atmosphere definitely has buzz. Staff are friendly and the owner, Doyle, circulates among the customers, usually with a beer in hand. Suggestion - if you are uncertain about trying the fish and chips, order the child's portion. It's nearly the same size as a... More
