Nothing special

Like another reviewer we stopped for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We asked our server about the mullet special only to be told they didn't have any. She then went on to say we wouldn't want it anyway since it is a "trash" fish. So why keep it as a special? Perhaps an alternative should be... read more

Tasty seafood, we had fried oysters, fried shrimp, and a grouper dinner. Service was friendly and prompt, attentive to refills on drinks, coffee, etc. Food cooked fresh and nice and hot even though it was busy. Grouper was particuarly delicious and non-fishy. Sweet potato logs were nice big wedges of sweet potato cooked like homefries but not greasy. Cash only... More

Stopped here for lunch and had some oysters, chowder and a fish sandwich. Good and filling, but nothing to write home about.

We were here twice, thought the food was excellent catfish, tuna sandwich and loved the key lime pie. Cindy was great.

Seeing the big sign on the door about only taking cash was not a good way to welcome us. They say it is so they can keep their prices low. In, fact their prices were average for the area. Our meals were all tasty but nothing special. Service was friendly. We may or may not return as there are better... More

Giving four stars because our first meal was outstanding. It was a grouper special with beurre (sp?) sauce, crab topping and asparagus. Simply wonderful. The second trip was a little less successful. Soft shell crab was so-so. The breading was a little heavy - in fact I found all their deep fried breading to be a bit leaden. I prefer... More

We have been eating here for the past three years. We enjoy the food and the service. Cindy does an excellent job and always takes care of us. We like the atmosphere as well. However, we do not like the "cash only" as we do not carry very much cash with us. Seems like a pretty outdated practice.

Triple Tails is known locally for its Friday night mullet special, and it was listed on their "Specials" board when we arrived. We planned to order the mullet, but our server told us when she came back to take our order there was no mullet because "nobody went fishing today". It would have been helpful to know that when she... More

After trying another Oyster Bar in the area and finding a big OUT OF OYSTERS sign we left and went to Triple Tails. There we were rudely greeted and promptly ignored. After waiting for someone to acknowledge that we were there we left! We are going to stick with places in Mexico Beach.
