Nice view, ok food

We went here for lunch in January, 2016, while visiting family in Tarpon Springs. We wanted to eat some place different from something we might have back in Indiana, so our family directed us here. The location is very pretty and sits on the water. It was a little difficult for us to actually... read more

We sat outside by the water and had an incredible experience. Jimmy was our server. He was knowledgeable about the menu and very helpful with his explanations and recommendations as well as personable. He turned our dinner into an amazing experience. By the way, the crab fries are probably the best thing I have ever eaten.

We live near the Port Richey area, and decided to give Catches a try. It is a unique atmosphere, but that was quickly negated by where we were seated. We had a view of the Hwy 19 bridge and the water and surrounding area was filthy. We had a couple of appetizers and two drinks....suffered severe sticker shock when presented... More

I love waterfront dining anytime and Catches has a very nice atmosphere -- certainly nautical. They had a lunch special of fish and chips which I ordered since my main purpose was to scout it out. Worthwhile move that told me to return with family or friends on next FL trip.

Ambiance was nautical with mounted fish, fishing poles and captains chairs at the bar. The new England claim chowder was fantastic, plenty of clams. The oysters were from Texas and very meaty. Mussels were in a white wine sauce that very good. Coconut shrimp and crab cakes are delightful. Staff was attentive and courteous.

I really enjoyed the first impression of this restaurant with a small bar, great nautical theme and a gorgeous location right on the river. There was a nice variety of food with prices mostly in the upper teens and twenties. Nice for a couple but may be a bit expensive for a family. The staff was very polite and helpful.... More

It's been a number of years since I was last at Catches, but we were meeting a new friend for drinks & dinner there, this past weekend. We got there first, so we hung out at the bar. Danielle, the bartender was absolutely the Best! When our new friend arrived, with a friend of hers, we moved to a booth,... More

This is a nice property located on the water. However, the staff was in total disarray. We arrived and waited quite some time for a hostess. We gave up and went to the bar where we got good service. We could see the hostess stand and most of the time it there wasn't anyone there. We observed several groups walk... More
