I am not a big ice cream fan because most of the offerings leave a bad aftertaste or are just too sweet. Ritter's is what real ice cream should be. No bad aftertaste. Just a pure & flavorful creamy treat. It is what I remember from my childhood. I would go out of my way to buy Ritter's Frozen Custard...... More

My wife ordered an Italian Ice and it was crushed ice and the syrup just went IMMEDIATLY to the bottom. She complained and was told that's Italian Ice. The ice was too coarse!! I got a raspberry double cone and it was melting everywhere. I had to throw it out. Didn't figure it was worth my time to tell anyone.... More

Staying nearby, we would walk to Ritter's each evening after dinner for dessert. I love it that they offered "lite frozen custard", sugar free. Delicious! The glaciers were a big hit. The large is truly LARGE! The also offer sundaes, italian ice, frozen coffee drinks, as well as hotdogs and pulled pork sandwiches. In spite of the pretty high prices... More

We've been going to Ritter's for many years. It was the first frozen custard place in the area and we've never been disappointed. Great selection of frozen custard (one of my favorites is the Turtle Sundae) and the employees are friendly.

Very good frozen custard. I had the vanilla custard with strawberry topping, whipped cream, and a cherry. It was a very good sundae. Custard was rich and creamy!!

Don;t just wait for a hot day to hit your spot! The best homemade treat anywhere around is right here! Their unigue process brings out the creamiest ice cream (frozen custard) you will ever have! I love just sitting out there, with my small dogs, while we all enjoy our dessert.

We visited Ritter's because a search showed it was the only place selling Italian ice in Port Orange. They had approx. 9 flavors of Italian Ice and the standard snow cones. So many ice cream options: cones, shakes, sundaes even banana splits. They also sell hot dogs and other concession type food. I felt they were reasonable priced. There is... More

Not sure why it's called custard, maybe because it is so delicious and creamy. The chocolate peanut butter sundae is my favorite. The portions are not large and it tends to be a bit pricey for ice cream.
