Great Local Place to dine on the intercoastal

A quaint local place that has picnic tables for dining. Plastic "walls" are lowered and heat lamps are on in inclement weather. Right on the intercoastal, next to the boat dock. Good food. Casual dining. Gets crowded on week-ends.

My family and I love Boondocks. We have been coming to Daytona Beach from Minnesota for the last 5 years now and every time we come we make it a point to come to Boondocks. The food, service and atmosphere are all amazing! We will keep coming back for the yummy Peel n' Eat Shrimp and all the other great... More

We went here on a rainy windy day. Dining room is picnic tables surrounded by plastic which can be raised. Don't be fooled by the decor. Food was great. Staff friendly and courteous. You have to fit right in with all the locals.

This place was exactly what I was looking for after a long day of work and a long day of traveling the day before - super casual, cold beer, and delicious oysters. Sit in the bar to make some new friends - everyone was so friendly and nice, including the staff. The staff was also very attentive. Everyone kept asking... More

Boondocks is a hidden gem, I think. Every time we've been, it's been dark so I think it's hidden. Located in the Halifax River in more of a neighborhood setting this you would expect l. The seafood is the freshest I think I've ever had. I devoured a couple clumps of crab legs before moving on to a pound of... More

The shrimp that were half priced were so over done I could not peel them. I asked to please have more made or if I can order something else. I was told the shrimp would be the same way because the cooks refuse to believe they were over done. I was so hungry while the rest of the party ate.... More

Fun spot on the water. Watch the boats, the people and the birds. Not fancy but good food. Loved the conch chowder. Big burgers.

We were in the area 10 days and visited twice, I'd say an evening experience is probably better than lunch. The staff is very busy and they all work as a group to wait tables, kind of confusing, I got over charged because something that was on our platter didn't show up, so when we requested it they thought we... Enjoy the 1/2 price shrimp January special every week of the month--it's great! Inside w/heaters on cool days, outside in the sun on warm days. Great service, wonderful food!
