I have always loved this restaurant. I have been coming to this restaurant for decades. It has never disappointed me. Darrel, the owner, greets us and is genuine and down to earth. He makes our dining experience extra special. This restaurant is a classic. It's greats to just go to the bar for drinks and apps or a special friends/... More

Intimate atmosphere and excellent food. I have never had a disappointing experience at Cafe Maxx. Highly recommended for special occasions.

Great place for a foodie! Menu changes weekly, but can't go wrong with staples like the tuna sashimi pizza and onion crusted snapper! Look for the awesome summer $35 wine tastings too!

Must try the Sashimi Pizza appetizer and onion-crusted snapper! All the food changes nightly and is ultra-gourmet

My daughter and I went to dinner for her birthday on the recommendation of her boss. The wait staff indicated that Cafe Maxx was in its 30th year, suggesting a model for customer satisfaction. We had a delicious bottle of wine, a '10 Leviation Meritage for $80. from their very extensive (and accurate) wine list, Our entree's were the three... More

On March 22 our party of four ate in Cafe Maxx. We thought we would get superior food and service and neither happened. Our dinners consisted of Salmon, Wahoo, Shrimp and Duck and none were especially good with the Wahoo and the Shrimp being very poor. Our two desserts were Apple Tart that was terrible and Key Lime Pie that... More

Dessert was terrific and large enough to share.Coffee was just like the islands. You will need a reservation... More

There was no warmth in the greeting and the service was very impersonal. The food was decent but unnecessarily rich. If you like creamy and heavy food this is the place for you. The furnishing was nondescript. It felt like eating in an early 90s restaurant. It was not as good as it should have been.

Had a nice evening planned at Cafe Max and considering we haven't been there in years we were really looking forward to great food but were totally underwhelmed The apps were very good but the main courses were not so great. Hogfish, a local delicious fish was dry and not very hot considering the plate was very hot ,which leads... More

I have been going to Darrel & Oliver's for years. It's just down the street from where I live and is arguably the best restaurant most of Broward County. My girlfriend and I always ask for Ricardo when he is on duty.
