We were looking forward to returning to the French Place Bistro the last time we were in South Florida. It had been a restaurant we really liked. However, when we drove over one evening it was closed with a for rent sign in front. We were really disappointed.

We really wanted to like this restaurant, but it was a disappointment. Knowledgeable server , but distracted. Food was as ordered but not spectacular. Beer selection good, care in choosing proper glasses was a plus. Nice to see a nice beer selection in other than a beer bar. Good pâté , onion soup bland with just a trace of onion.... More

That is just a totally delightful experience... "The French Place - Belgian Bistro" is a find! My husband and I wandered into an empty dining room, and I had to go look for someone to wait on us. A very nice young man, Andy, came out and welcomed us to a sort of shabby chic bistro. It's clean and charming,... More

Authentic french restaurant. Good service. Fairly casual and not expensive. They offer several very reasonable fixed price three course menus with half dozen choices for most courses. We were four diners and had a mixed experience - half the party thought it was pretty good and the other half were not so impressed. Two of us had duck for example... More

We went here for lunch based on tripadvisor reviews. It was a good choice, authentic French from decor to food. Food was great and the price was right. Restrooms leave something to be desired. This place is worth trying.

I had lunch here today at this charming bistro in Pompano. The onion soup ($6) was one of the best I've ever tasted. The beef burgundy ($9) was excellent, very flavorful and accompanied by several different vegetables. My friend had the frogs legs ($30) which he said had a wonderful tomato sauce. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff professional, and... More

We enjoyed our appetizers, entrées, and our dessert. Thelamb Shank was very tender, melt in your mouth. The sauce complimented it nicely, not swimming. The Pepper Steak was also fantastic. Our server was very knowledgeable. He made great beer choice and we will definitely return.

Their full name is 'The French Place Belgian Bistro'. Having both traveled to Belgium, my sister & I stopped by to look at their menu. The variety & reasonable prices enticed us to go for lunch. We're so glad we did! This was the best of 4 meals we had last week in the Pompano/Lauderdale area. It was so difficult... More

We visited for lunch and were wowed by the range of interesting choices, the reasonable prices and the welcoming ambience of a small family operation. We wish we could have found it earlier because we may not have time to return ths trip, though I will make every effort. We shared an inventive fish stew dish and a sautéed and... More
