Hidden on a bayou you couldn't ask for a better location. The restaurant is part shack, part dock and bayou through and through. The service was attentive and friendly, but it took a while for the food to arrive so don't be on a hurry. The gator burger was fun, the beef poboy was wonderful, soft shell crabs very good.... I've never been to Louisiana, but I felt like I was there. The Cajun Cafe is on a Bayou in Pinellas Park, Florida. About a dozen local microbrews are on tap. Service is very friendly and helpful. We went for lunch... I had the crawfish etouffee and it was delicious! My husband had the gator burger served with onion rings,... More

Food is good, beer is cold. Whiskey bread pudding is to die for! Have gator on menu. Don't sit inside...fleas ate my ankles up! If not for that, I'd give it 4 stars.

Our family decided to try this restaurant after driving by it for many years. It's name fits it perfectly and the rustic facade is just right. We went right before the dinner rush was to start and save for two other parties in the dinning area, the place was pretty quiet. My mother and son had po-boys and I finally... More

My father-in-law discovered this hidden gem when he was down here visitng St. Pete. Located next to the Wagon Wheel flea market, Cajun Cafe on the Bayou has phenomenal food in a serene atmosphere. The menu asks you to turn off your cell phones and wrangle in any unruly children, as all patrons deserve to enjoy a quiet meal. From... More

I just left this establishment. First of all we weren't greeted when we came through the door. We sat ourselves as we heard the lady tell the people in front of us to sit wherever they liked. We placed orders for 2 Cokes the waiter came back and said the soda was flat and he was waiting for his boss... More

This is a great casual date night place situated in an unexpectedly picturesque spot off a busy thoroughfare. The food is the best Cajun we've had outside of Louisiana. The selection of craft beers is delightful and diverse although they were a bit low on stocks since we've come just after a weekend beer festival. We had Crawfish Étouffée and... More

We made our second trip here over the weekend, and again loved the place. Great food and even better selection of craft beers with a neat atmosphere. Service is always friendly as well!

Prices are high but food excellent. Lots of great beer choices. Not kid friendly. Keep going back as pluses win out.

There are some "musts" here...one of the craft beers on tap or bottled, the crawfish cornbread to start and the whiskey bread pudding to end. Fill in the middle with whatever you're craving at the time as it's all good. This is not your fancy date night place, but it is your cajun down-home cooking at it's best. Watch for... More
