Even the grandkids like this food. Warm, hearty and plenty of spice. Our table had the Jambalaya, Crawfish Cornbread, Creole Gumbo, Crab Cakes, and Shrimp. Food was filling and the setting was on a bayou in the Bardmoor area. While eating a boat approached and pulled up a filled crabtrap They separated those too small and moved on with a... More

We went to the Cajun Café on the Bayou for my birthday. It's been a long time since I've been here, before the current husband and wife owned it. Right on a real Bayou, and the décor made me think of a shack and it's not made to look this way. Wall A/C units don't properly cool the inside. It's... More

We dine here at least once a month and this is by far our favorite casual dining restaurant. The Crawfish Étouffée is outstanding (in fact, whenever we are in New Orleans or somewhere in Louisiana, we miss their Étouffée) and the Crawfish Cornbread is to die for. It's a little spendy but absolutely worth it. My favorite part about this... More

We have eaten here occasionally for several years. One thing, if it says HOT then it is very HOT and I really like hot food. The only problem is that it is a bit pricey for what it is and unless you really like big crowds don't go there when they are having a crawfish or zydeco festival.

I grew up eating cajun food and tried this joint 6 months ago. Wasn't impressed but thought I would give it another try. Sat down and asked what beers were on tap. Server says he is too new to remember for me to get up and go read the board. He also said there were bottled beers just beside the... More

On the way to a happy hour close to the beach we saw the sign for Cajun Café saying it had 15 local beers on tap so decided to gave it a try. Left full to the gills after having dinner and desert. This place is just what you want in a dining experience, great service, great food, and reasonable... More

We've lived near this place for 10+ years and have eaten here about 4 times over the years. I've never had a great experience and I'm not sure why we keep returning. The place is a shack and I think it's intentionally supposed to look run down. The interior is pretty much the same. It's not very welcoming. The people... More

We enjoyed sitting out on the deck by the water. The fried okra was a good starter. I thought the gumbo was tasty. Our table also tried the fried meatloaf and jambalaya. The food was all good. The service was ok. Luckily he brought a pitcher of water so we had drinks. We waited awhile for the food. It was... More

We had seen this restaurant and had wondered aloud if it was any good. Today we went for lunch and it was nothing special and maybe a bit over priced. If the food had been more than average we would go back but this is a one time stop for us
