Welcome to Clay Oven! Clay Oven derives its name from tandoor, which is used in traditional Punjabi/North Indian cooking and baking. Punjab is a northern state of India and is very popular for its rich food and flavours, originating from its traditional way of clay oven cooking. Food cooked in Clay Oven is authentic and emits unique aroma – a taste that is impossible to duplicate! Cooking in clay is one of the oldest techniques for cooking exotic meals. The process dates back to the early settlements of the ancient Indus Valley and Harappan Civilization.

Only okay - not too spicy.

Admittedly I am not a connoisseur of Indian food though I have traveled in India. I met a friend at The Clay Oven for lunch recently. We had the buffet which I believe is the only lunch option. I liked the tandoori and some of the bean items. It was certainly not overly spicy. We arrived at... read more

We went for the lunch buffet....best value always. They had a great selection that day. Goat curry, Muttar paneer, chicken vindaloo, croquets, awesome tandoori chicken, charred yummy naan...all excellent! Craving it now...we will see you soon! Go for Lunch on an empty stomach!

I had the goat saag, onion bhajji, and garlic Naan. All were delicious and full of flavor. I was very impressed. The service was great. The only downfall was that I also ordered the cucumber yogurt accompaniment and it never arrived. It was taken off my bill after I pointed it out. I would definitely come here again.

Clay oven catered for my brother's wedding reception. They did an awesome job! We ordered for 100 people but food was plenty for 120. The quality of the food was excellent! Everything was fresh and delicious. Everyone loved it! I am so glad I chose Clay Oven. Mr. Mohan and Mr. Vikas were very helpful. They were always available to... More

I must say as a trained Indian cook and do enjoy my Indian food, I would say this is the Best Indian Restaurant in our area. I love the Chicken Tikka Masala and vegetable biryani. If you get a chance to visit them they also have a Buffett most days of the week.

I enjoy the lunch buffet once a week...I have eaten at most of the Indian restaurants in the area and Clay Oven is by far the best! The daily lunch buffet is $12 and worth every penny. The flavor of the butter chicken, the tandoori chicken and the curry chicken are amazing! The galub (dessert) is the best I have... More

We love an Indian restaurant in downtown St. Petersburg but the parking in the area can be a problem. We found this restaurant in Pinellas Park and love it. Always good service and well prepared food. The only negatives are the medium heat in the dishes is not consistent and sometimes the restaurant is closed during times they advertise as... More

After enjoying their food for two years, the last two visits were enough to keep me away forever. To begin with only one server on duty on a Thursday night. If there was any management in the kitchen they never once poked their head around the corner to see what was going on in the front of the house. Food... More

The food here is great. A friend recommended this place. They have a lunch buffet and India videos playing in the background. The prices are kind of high, but would eat there again!

Tonight, my daughter took me here for my birthday as it is one of our favorite restaurants, and most definitely our favorite Indian restaurant. We have been to many in the area the past 20 years, and Clay Oven is the best overall. I always enjoy their buffet, but tonight needed to comment on dinner. Their Tuesday/Wednesday night specials are... More
