Description: Cabbage Key is a 100 acre island located five miles off of Pine Island, FL in the Pine Island Sound. The Inn, built in the 1940's by the family of Mary Roberts Rinehart, now houses our famous Restaurant & Dollar Bill Bar and six guest rooms. The rooms in the Inn are all different with old Florida charm - they do not have TVs, phones, or refrigerators. We have seven cottages on the island, ranging from a 1 bedroom/1 bath cottage to 3 bedroom/3 bath waterfront units. All cottages have refrigerators, televisions (no cable) and coffee makers, some units have full kitchens. Our restaurant is open seven days a week and serves breakfast, lunch & dinner. If you want to relax on a beach...we do not have one here. But, Cayo Costa is a close kayak or boat ride away. This is a great retreat to discover "Old Florida", relax with a book, fish from our docks & watch the boats go by.

I was in Florida with work and my husband joined me for a few days before we came home. We had limited time and so asked for recommendations from local people. Cabbage Key was one of the top recommended trips so we booked and off we went. We went from Captiva and enjoyed a boat trip there and back seeing... More

Took an afternoon boat ride from Bokeelia with locals to The Cabbage Key Inn on a chilly day. I was pleasantly supprised by the homey feel and the hospitality of the staff.I was even more impressed with my first ever fresh stone crab claw lunch. My friends had the blackened mahi mahi which I tasted and it was fabulous. I... More

First time out to Cabbage Key and we loved it! Came over on our boat with two other couples and had lunch. Food was good, but waitress, Adrian was exceptional! She had such a nice personality and was very efficient. Loved all the money hanging on the ceilings and walls! Hope to come back one day soon.

We have been to Cabbage Key many times over the last 9 years. We spend about a month on an island close to Cabbage Key and kayak over for lunch many days. The atmosphere and people are the best qualities of the restaurant. The "cheeseburger in paradise" is very tasty, the clam chowder is to die for, and the key... More

Took a boat to the island and ate lunch at the restaurant. Only show in town .... we had hamburgers (specialty), Reuben, and the mahi salad. Nothing to write home about. Sort of average everything. Not planning on going back. (Better watch the clerk at the souvenir shop ... peeled the SALE PRICE sticker off the hat, rolled it up... More

Thank you for taking the time to write your review. We always like our guests to leave Cabbage Key happy. It sounds like you trip was just average, we apologize for that. Got my "cheeseburger in paradise". I don't care if the song was written here or not - what a unique little island to visit and have lunch.

Headed over to the Cabbage Key Inn for lunch with family and friends after a morning on the beach at Cayo Costa. The Cabbage Key Inn definitely takes you back to an Old Florida setting, complete with veranda, ceiling fans, and a lack of air conditioning. The most unique aspect of the restaurant is the dining room with thousands of signed dollar bills attached to walls, ceilings, and other fixtures. The restaurant is also rumored to have been the inspiration for Jimmy... More

Thank you for taking the time to write about your recent visit to Cabbage Key. The story that "Cheeseburger in Paradise" was written about Cabbage Key is a rumor started many years ago...something Cabbage Key, Inc. has never endorsed nor advertised. However, in the 1970's, Jimmy Buffett did spend time at Cabbage Key before he performed a concert in Ft.... More
