Good low key place to eat

We had large order bay scallops on special. Cooked well, generous portion, great price. Gouda grits always great. Slaw and hush puppies good. Server Kimmie was friendly, efficient and made our dinner great.

The restaurant didn't look like much, outside or in, but the reviews were pretty good and I've learned not to judge by looks in this region. We ordered a bottle of wine with fried alligator as a split appetizer. The fried gator tasted good but was incredibly greasy. I soaked 3 napkins blotting it off. We each ordered the Point... More

The best and freshest fish in Pensacola. I enjoyed my dinner. My husband had the seafood platter. He really though it was the best.

This place has been here forever, and unfortunately it shows. But I can say that if you are a regular, you will be treated well. The food is pretty good, but unimaginative. Seafood is the go to choice. They usually have the same in-house band in attendance, at the least the last few times we visited.

We love going to The Point on the weekends when Bubba and Them are playing bluegrass. It's a staple for our family! Its a locals joint with the nicest folks and fresh fish too. My husband usually has some sort of mullet but this time he ordered the fresh catch which was grouper and had it with the Cajun sauce... More

We arrived after calling ahead and was seated. We ordered and my daughter ordered off the kids menu. The food was not mediocre at best. My husband ordered the FOD fish of day sandwich, when finally brought to the table after quite a wait looked the size of a lunch able. Then the bill arrives they had charged us for... More

The building looks the same as it did when we ate here in the 70's. A good local restaurant. Prices are moderate. The lunch specials are $5.00. You are given a good portion for the price. My husband had a grouper sandwich and said it was pretty good. French fry's were ok nothing special. I had the lunch special consisting... More

The Original Point has some of the best seafood on Perdido Key! They used to be the "big boy" on the block, but after Ivan and the BP spill, their normal business seems to have drifted away. I wasn't even sure they were still open, and was VERY pleasantly surprised when I walked in as the sole client, and was... More

Ok, so the restaurant seems quite dilapidated and completely in need of renovation but the food is really good. We had fried green tomatoes, catfish, slaw & crab cake. They have live music but we missed out on that. I really wanted to go back and try something else.

This restaurant has been in operation since the 70,s and the decor shows it. The food was ok and the service was good. They were very helpful with recommendations to other points of interest. We would not go back but if you are looking fried fish it would be a good choice. The gumbo was the best thing we had.
