Like being back home!

Every trip to Pensacola would not be complete without a trip to Marina Oyster Barn. Because I used to live there, it is a local establishment that we have to go back to. My husband and I specifically asked a local where we were staying while in Pensacola where to get some good seafood. We didn't want anything fancy, just something fresh and delicious. We were given 3 suggestions, and on a whim, we chose the Marina Oyster Barn. We entered the address in our GPS and off we went. It took us a... More

This is where "old Pensacola" goes to eat. Be sure to get there early to get a seat on the weekends. If you go for dinner around 5-ish, you will be in line with all us "blue-haired ladies".....one of the few places I trust for raw oysters. Excellent gumbo! Good cold beer and cheese grits!

Started with two dozen medium to semi-large oyster trays. Very fresh and glistening off the accompanying sunshine. Followed by an excellent gumbo (rice on the side) and a nice fish chowder that was crammed with New Potatoes. Actually, not too bad. They have beer, wine and various soft drinks. I'll return to try their fried and grilled mullet......out of it... More

We decided to order out and I wanted Grouper. I'm from the North so getting good seafood is not easy. We have nice fresh water fish, but not seafood. So we ordered out from Marina's Oyster Barn, and it was delicious. I had grilled grouper with cheese grits, veggies and baked beans. It was delicious!

I ate here in the 70's and what a thrill to find it still around! The seafood gumbo could be no better! Delicious!! The mullet cooked to perfection and all sides equally as good. We will return often.

This the second time we have eaten here. The first was 2013 when we had some wonderful oysters on the half shell and a beer. This time we had a half dozen oysters and ordered the combo seafood platter. Fried oysters, shrimp, scallops, fish filet, and stuffed crab she'll. The fried food was average but the crab was sooooo disappointing.... More

Read the other reviews and you'll get the whole picture. I'll summarize by saying avoid fried items and order grilled items. Our grilled shrimp was fantastic. The fried shrimp was over breaded and greasy. Sides were small. Price was large. You decide.
