A Pensacola icon

Great, local restaurant with a laid-back atmosphere. You won't go away hungry. Try the Nassau grits! I don't know where the name came from, but they're good!

First time visit. We asked the waitress for recommendations and she said everything is good so we ordered the sausage gravy biscuits, grits with cheese, Nassau grits, corned beef hash, a fried egg and wheat toast. Everything was underwhelming. The Nassau grits cannot compare to specialty grits offered at other restaurants. The "sausage" gravy had 1 crumble of sausage on... More

It has been a year since my husband and I have visited this wonderful little restaurant, and we absolutely cannot wait to go back. Unfortunately life and work have been busy, so I've just now had a chance to really take the time to review. But I think it says a lot that even a year later we talk about... More

Always come here when in Pensacola. Local crowd, good food from local growers. Eggs, pancakes, waffles, all good - they make grits just right IMHO - just eat 'em. Good food anpd they'll call you darlin' - what else you need?

The good: food is good, but no better than other places in this area, they do have really good biscuits The bad: service is spotty, owner or manager (not sure which he is) will let people he knows well go in front of people who have been waiting for a table, wait is pretty long sometimes (part of this is... Delicious cheesy eggs. Waitress quickly brought us second helpings when we ordered (couldn't resist). Charming. From the original counter stools to the delicious coffee. Just right.

It was our first visit. The place was hopping busy. We seated ourselves, our waitress was immediately at the table to take drink orders. OJ for the wife, coffee for me. She kept my cup and our water glass full. She gave us first-timers the lay of the land. Food was back in short order, and it was delicious. Biscuits... More

Food was really yummy. And the waitress brought our add on (second helpings) with lightening speed. Those cheesy eggs tho...Delish! The counter stools are authentic and I love it.

The food is yummy. And the atmosphere is authentic old time diner. It has certain charm. I love the original counter stools. Always enjoy and go every time I'm there.

When I was in college, I lived near the Coffee Cup. I ate breakfast there nearly every day before heading down Scenic Hwy to the University of West Florida. Before I went there, I had never even tried grits. They are still the very best I have ever had. This is not just a great breakfast place, it is a... More
