We started going to the Sandbar several years ago when it had a deli counter and beer coolers. It looks more like a restaurant now, but the food is still great. This visit I had a dozen oysters with the delicious cocktail sauce. My wife had a shrimp Po Boy and I had a grouper basket. Both were very tasty.... More

My husband had been here a couple of times about 3 years ago when he was in PCB on business. So, it was important to him to take me there on my first PCB visit. It was very nice. Clean with good service. Our waitress was very nice and answered questions my husband had about a couple things that were... More

I ended up eating there three times in two days and I don't do that often when I am vacationing. Great service and a very friendly staff. The manager was an FSU fan so he and I had a running battle since I am an Auburn fan. All good natured though and in fun. I will be back to eat... More

We went to the Sandbar by recommendation by the hotel owner. We started with an appetizer of shrimp wraps, they were battered and fried and came with 2 different dips, they weren't too bad, there we're 5 of those. My husband had the grilled shrimp basket, he said it tasted Ok, but the shrimp were small and fries were Ok.... More

Our family had eaten at 3 restaurants looking for good crab legs on our week stay. Our experiences came up short and pockets lighter. A local had recommended Sandbar. We passed it by due to it not catching our eye with its outside appearance. When we gave it a try we were mad that we had not tried it earlier,... More

we also were there a few nights ago and the smell was not oysters but a sewage smell. It was so strong right when you walked in that we had to leave

This restaurant is awesome! The outside is a little deceiving as it looks sort of like a hole in the wall. The only thing off-putting was the fishy smell when you first walked in but they were serving fresh oysters at the bar so it was understandable. I was really looking for fresh seafood at a good price from a... More

We went here because our hotel clerk recommended it. I am so glad that she did! We had the sandbar hot chips appetizer(homemade chips doused in hot sauce and blue cheese crumbles and then baked). Delicious doesn't even describe how good it was. I had commander Dave's shrimp(got 1/2 lb large shrimp in butter, garlic, seafood seasoning and hot sauce?).... More

Staff was friendly, and efficient. We ordered the calamiri app, bacon wrapped shrimp, and cheese baked oysters. All was good but the shrimp was tough as a tire. Price was right, and fish was fresh. It was a good place to start our PCB vacation.

My husband and I spend at least a solid chunk of time before eating somewhere new deciding if its worth our time. This place stood out from all the other oyster bars around because it was touted as great food but not high cost, something a family of four is always after. Easily located for anywhere you might be staying... More
