Very popular with tourists, so go early.

We love cajun, but I guess cajun is like BBQ. Every locale has their own version and no one else's tastes right. This is Lafayette cajun and we (with New Orleans heritage) found it to taste not at all like the cajun we are accustomed to. The catfish was super fishy. I like that they offer several... read more

Great atmosphere, especially Karaoke on a Wednesday (maybe winter only??). Rick plus all the waitresses and bar staff run a pretty slick operation; we have never had to wait long for anything no matter how busy they are & they do get very busy. Great oysters & their signature "Who dat shrimp" are worthy of a mention. Though come to... More

My wife and I brought our children to Bayou on the Beach and were absolutely amazed at the combination of great food and festive atmosphere. There was live music playing and the entire restaurant was full of happy, laughing families. We loved the "down home" feel of this place. The entire eatery is decorated with New Orleans Mardi Gras masks,... More

When I asked my family how they liked Bayou on the Beach, I got "it was cool" as an answer. A friend of ours who frequents the area recommended Bayou. He said that the gator was good. We tried it. It was "cool". The seasoning was a little bland. it was fried well and the meat was juicy. We also... More

If you like cajun food, this is the place for you. From Red Beans & Rice to Jambalaya, it is all good! I've been there 3 times so far and the food was good each time. FRESH RAW OYSTERS!!!! They shuck em, you eat them. Good deals!

If you want fresh seafood you must try this place. A hidden treasure. Delightful experience. Oysters are wonderful. Fried oyster platter was fresh (not frozen), tasty, and more than I could eat. Crawfish Po Boy was fantastic. Try all of their sauces. Good eats with a Cajun flair. Great atmosphere. Great value. Will definitely return.

We arrived on Fat Tusday, the day before Ash Wednesday, and they immediately gave us a bead necklace. There was a joyful spirit and our group of six wolfed down Cajun style seafood. Oysters and shrimp. Good food and fun but not quite worth a two hour drive. Although everything was flavorful, it was not outstanding.

was highly disappointed on jan 14,2015---well, more MAD than disappointed when we attempted to go in and they met us (a group of 6) at the door and said they were closed. It was 9:06 pm...There was a group of 4 or 5 that was also turned away at the same time. I understand policy/hours in business etc-- but on... More

I call Bayou On The beach a hidden treasure because I have passed by it for years and never stopped to eat or see what it was about. Stopped by finally last summer, we ate and enjoyed a few adult beverages. Food was great! Beer was cold! Don't think I could have asked for more. We all felt right at... More
