There's nothing "fancy" about Schooners cuisine; it is simple, fresh and perfect. No sauces cover the unbeatable flavor of truly fresh Grouper sizzled to perfection on the Schooners grill. A platter of fresh Fried Oysters, Hushpuppies and icy cold beer blend perfectly with the salty breeze blowing in off the Gulf.

Good local bar/restaurant

My family traveled to Panama City beach during Spring break. The bar has a fantastic view of the ocean and even had a bunny sand sculpture for Easter. The drinks were great, service was good (the restaurant gets slammed during lunch and dinner). We had onion rings, fish tacos, and the grouper... read more

We waited 45 min. at 6 P.M. for a table, then 2 hours inside for a hamburger and some fish. It was very crowded, very loud live music, you couldn't have a conversation. I complained to the manager about the unacceptable long wait and he gave us all the food and drinks for free, after apologizing that the kitchen crashed.... More

We stayed a few doors down and ate here a few times. Great food and atmosphere! Try and sit outside along the beach :-)

We showed up with a party of 24 and they got us all seated within an hour. Food was terrific, staff was fast and friendly and the manager even took the time to check with us. Live music was the reason for going and this night was outstanding. Could use a little better parking situation but all in all would... More

Friends recommended this restaurant. We had a 45 minute wait to be seated. Once seated we were attended to promptly. Our meals were excellent. We had grilled grouper, crab cakes, jerk chicken and hamburgers. Everyone enjoyed their meals and our server was personable and attentive. We were there for the sunset. They shoot a cannon when the sun sets. Kind... More

A good combination of touristy and local bar crowd. Food is pretty good but not extraordinary. Great rum runners. We got the last table for two before sunset so watching the beach crowd wrap up another day doing nothing is always fun. Great people watching in general since this is the tail end of spring break. BTW, some of the... More

A local recommended this place to us and we couldn't be happier that we went. FANTASTIC atmosphere and great live music. (I'm not typically a live music fan - so that's saying a LOT) Good local seafood and beach access right off the back deck of the restaurant. We're going again for our last night in town. We LOVED it.

Schooner's is billed as "the last local beach bar," which is an accurate description. This casual spot on the beach has good food and an excellent cover band. People of all ages gather to dance. We especially enjoyed the blackened grouper sandwich and black beans and rice, a huge fresh Cobb salad, and shrimp and grits. This was a second... More

We went early on a Friday evening right about dinner time 5 o'clock. Service was excellent, food was great. Great atmosphere definitely would recommend going back later on in the evening for some entertainment. This restaurant was only a block from our rental home, wish we wouldn't have waited until the last day
