My husband and I went to Pappy's this week and had heard it was under new ownership. The menu sounded good with a variety of choices. My husband ordered the seafood platter and I ordered a shrimp dish. Our waitress was average, she seemed pre-occupied with her other tables. Our dishes were to sum it up--bland. My husband and I went into the new and improved Pappy's and were amazed at the atmosphere and menu. It is now under new ownership and is not just your old German farts restaurant anymore. My wife and I visited for the first time today. We found the atmosphere to be very friendly. We wanted to watch the sunset so we ordered our dinner to go. We could have stayed and enjoyed the atmosphere! It's nice to find a great little restaurant like this that is not a franchise but a real family owned pub.... more

We have lived in Panama City Beach for six years and have given Pappy's 3 chances and each time, it got worse. EVERY German that we know who has eaten there was of the same opinion! During our vacation in Panama City Beach, FL area we have discovered that most of the restaurants are really run down, in poor shape inside and out. Pappy's German Restaurant was no exception.
