STUFFY, But Worth Tolerating

I've visited this restaurant for more than 20 years...having had parents who wintered in Palm Beach...but I had not been in many years until a few weeks ago. Once you get past the stuffiness and affect of the wait-staff, you can enjoy the beautiful ambiance of this restaurant. The courtyard is... read more

Went on a Saturday evening without a booking and after the greeter consulted the maitre d we were hastily showed to a table located in the lovely outdoor courtyard. Our waiter was a throw back to Fawlty Towers and I'm sure if Manuel was still around this would be how he is; when I asked for the beer they serve,... More

Renato's has been a Palm Beach institution for decades. It has always been a solid place for good Italian food and it is now hitting on all cylinders. Both the food and service are quite good. Some reviews have found the service to be on the stuffy side but our experience was not that way at all. The waitstaff couldn't... More

First time in Palm Beach. My wife and I had dinner together and it was jammed, but the host was generous, waitstaff excellent and the food outstanding. Portions were just right so you left happy but not stuffed. Pasta was out of this world. Highly recommended.

Lucky enough to have a table for 10 outside on a beautiful night the staff and food did nothing to ruin an amazing atmosphere. First off, getting the table we got outside for 10 was a feat in itself, it is a beautiful courtyard but I can't speak of the docor inside as I never saw it. Service was friendly... More

So many complaints about the wait staff. I don't get it. For me, tuxedoed waiters, white table linens, and a maître-d' that stops by your table regularly between courses to make sure that everything is correct, is the best part. I always leave feeling I've been treated in an excellent manner. I do suggest a blazer or sport coat for... More

I hate to review a place several times because it insinuates lack of adventure in choosing a restaurant. I actually tried to go to Bice for lunch instead of Renato's, but there was no outdoor seating available. So off I go to Renato's, where I was treated like a queen all by myself! No kidding, I probably had a total... More

Renato's is one of our favorite restaurants in Palm Beach. After its recent rennovation it is the prettiest and we have no idea what some others didn't like about the food. The kitchen turns out amazing food. The classic frito misto is mouth watering as are the pastas. In fact, the extensive menu offers so many tempting choices that we... More

Went for an anniversary; something I noted in the reservation; no acknowledgment. It is a lovely old school restaurant. The food was very good; my filet was perfect and my husband loved the veal special. Had a lovely wine. The down side is getting the rush job to leave; we held on to our dessert menu just to be allowed... More

Went to Renato's to celebrate my sister's birthday. Started with fois gras: The liver was too greasy, and the toast points completely stale and soggy. A 5! Had the sword fish in tomato, olive and pernod sauce: Great sauce, terrible, dried out fish. A 6! Had the ravioli with mushroom: Fantastic, perfectly prepared dough, you could taste the truffles, amazing... More
