I went to Guavate with my friends on a friday at 6pm. We waited an hour to find a table after complaining many times because they won't assign a table unless the whole party is there (there was only missing one person of my group). The place is very small. Food was not what I expected. It was greasy and... More

I was in Orlando for an event and a friend recommended we go to this eatery for dinner. Living in Tampa, Florida it's hard to find a Puerto Rican Restaurant so I was excited. There was a little wait but it was due to the event in the area so we didn't mind. They accommodated our guest of 8 with... More

This was one of the best meals that I have consumed in quiet a while. They accommodated our party of 16 during the busiest time of the evening with no problems. We made a reservation in advance. We ordered everything from the menu and everyone was able to share, taste, and experience the different dishes we all had. All in... More

Having lived in Puerto Rico for many years, I know my Puerto Rican cuisine, and this restaurant is one of the few good places for it in the Orlando area. It is the type of place you root for because their are no decent alternatives. First, the good points. Some of their dishes are excellent. Among these, are the whole... More

My first time here and it was a HIT. Order the alcapurrias - hot and tasty! Also the STUFFED MOFONGO is Ginormous - you could definitely share this. I ordered the pernil and was disappointed because it looked very pale and the onions were thick chunky slices. I ate it anyway as I eyed all the other plates to see... More

Visited on 19 DEC 2013 for lunch and ordered the traditional, Plato Navideno. I was served cold rice, chunks of fat and a thick and tastless pastel navideno. This place used to be great--what happened? new chefs? My parents also visited and complained about the very dry mofongo. So sad, this used to be my favorite Puerto Rican Restaurant. I... More

Weekends in Puerto Rico are a family affair especially Sundays. Locals will gather at their favorite spots to enjoy friends, food, drinks and music. The name Guavate comes from a area in Puerto Rico known for its typical culinary delights. Famous for whole pig slowly roasted over open fire which is delicious along with rice and pigeon peas, pasteles, tostones, mofongo... More

The food is very expensive... The surullitos don't taste the same and definitely they don't look like surullitos. It is our first time and the services is terrible they rush you to order and if you tell them to put the kids food 1st they tell you that the the other food is going to take longer. Very small place.

Excellent service, food was delicious and very family oriented atmosphere. We ordered several items from menu. Price is reasonable and worth it!
