We Had a Lovely Meal

Unlike others, we had great service. Friendly young woman (just a few weeks from Africa) seated us and described the room and some customs. Our server was very capable throughout the meal. While not cheap, we found it a lovely meal; one of the better ones on Disney property.

Next door to boma which we had booked but cancelled as it was chaos! Probably organised chaos but too busy and its buffet! Jiko is quiet, lovely atmosphere, nice wine! Hated the fact that a clear dress code sign on entry was not adhered to. Men in casual, beach or combat shorts NOT dress shorts, guess its easier for women,... More

I visit Florida every year and make it a point to visit Jiko (truly my favourite restaurant on the Disney estate). They have a full vegetarian menu (which is appreciated) and the service is always good. It is a little on the pricier side but the quality of the food means it is most deserved.

One of the best meals I have ever had! Visited with my kids and we each had different meals, so we could taste them all! The presentation was excellent, staff is well versed in African cuisine, and the food was delicious! And its on site....so you smell the aroma all day :)

We were hesitant on going here since we weren't sure what to expect. We are so glad we ate here. We decided to try appetizers and go from there. Service was an off night our waitress was preoccupied with a large party that had 3 crying children (under 3) . We ordered a cocktail which was ok wasn't great. Didn't... More

Nestled in the ground floor of the Animal Kingdom Lodge, we have dined at Jiko a number of times and it is always a pleasure. The restaurant is sophisticated, airy, but not stuffy. The hues of the room change color like a sunset on repeat. The service is impeccable. Want a glass of wine from Africa? This is your place.... More

What an outstanding meal we had! From the wild boar appetizer to the tomatoes five ways to the malva pudding, everything was first rate. We also enjoyed sitting at the chef's table/bar where we interacted with a friendly helpful cook who explained what she was preparing and made recommendations on what to eat and what to do in the parks!... If you want a unique dining experience - Jiko is the place! We ate here as part of the Wanyama Safari & Dinner. The food was very tasty- like nothing I've had anywhere else. I was a little apprehensive about eating African-type meals, but everything was delicious. If you have the money, try this experience - you won't regret it.... More

We've eaten at Jiko at least a half dozen times. Each time the service has been excellent. The wine list is outstanding -- though different. They specialize in South African wine ( a very good wine region) and the variety is exceptional. The food is very good -- the closest Disney gets to spicy at times. I wish the menu... More

The whole experience was just great. Our waiter was really nice and knowledgeable about the menu and wine, he let us sample some of the wines and made very good recommendations. The food was simply delicious and the ambience was very good. The large windows allowed us to watch a fantastic lightening storm too :)
