Description: Charley's Steak House has created a unique dining experience unsurpassed...
Charley's Steak House has created a unique dining experience unsurpassed in the industry. The restaurant's namesake, Charley Woodsby, co-founder of the Red Lobster chain, was honored by the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association with the Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006. After selling Red Lobster to General Mills in 1970, Charley and his son Ron Woodsby developed Talk of the Town Restaurants - the corporate parent to Charley's Steak House. Over the years the Woodsby's have become "beef aficionados" with a steadfast formula for success: feature only Midwest grain-fed USDA Prime & Choice beef, age on-site for 4 to 6 weeks, and have management cut meat daily and season for 30 hours to create distinctive flavor. The steak is then flame-grilled over a 1200° open pit, fueled with a combination of Florida citrus & oak wood. This carefully monitored process provides for quality, tenderness and a tantalizing taste that elevates Charley's to the ultimate steakhouse experience. Since its inception, Charley's Steak House has prided itself on being a traditional steakhouse. But with the rise in number of savvy diners came the need to evolve the definition of 'steakhouse'. Instituting a corporate chef and placing managing chefs at each location, Charley's has advanced into a traditional steakhouse with culinary flair featuring chef-driven appetizers and entrees as well as established menu items.

The most expensive meat in the world!

A Slightly pretentious place. The service was good, but when they work out that you are not a millionaire, they lose interest. The cheapest cut was a T bone at around $38....The Cheapest bottle of wine was around $40...up to some eye watering sums of money in excess of $400!!!...The food was good... read more

Love the steaks,as well as the appetizers. Great quality beef is evident, cooked to perfection. Atmosphere is high end steakhouse, and service is always great. Nice dinner for two to treat ourselves.

Seriously one of the best meals of my life. Went with work people - we opted to try a couple of higher end steaks that aren't on every Ruth's Chris/Morton's menu. I had the Ultimate Filet and it was amazing - cooked perfectly. Sides were delicious, potato sides were a little smaller than I would have expected but delicious. The... More

there are better steakhouses in Orlando, and in the area. While the cost was on par with most of the other high-end places, the service and food was not. The two appetizers we had, shrimp and crab, was very good. The entrees, especially the beef, were to be frank disappointments. Several of the steaks were of poor texture and had... More

My wife and I dined here after not being at Charley's for many years. It was so worth it and the cost truly matches the fine quality. The steaks are so perfect and tasty. Service was spot on and everyone was so friendly and outgoing. We are looking forward to trying the other Talk of the Town restaurants in Orlando.

When we have the opportunity to visit Orlando (or Tampa), we always make it a point to eat at Charley's. There is just something awesome about the grills here and the wood fire that make the beef so amazing tasting. The waygu is out of this world, and we usually split it, it's so over the top rich.

time and time again Charley's in Orlando (on International Dr.) proves to be the steakhouse I have been to in the U.S.A. for the money the steaks cannot be beat and for the steaks themselves everyone I have ever had has been prepared to perfection and the same can be said for everyone I was with on this visit and... After the previous night's experience, I checked out the menu for this place which looked almost identical. I starved myself all day so I could participate. However I was fortunately, pleasantly surprised. Our table of 9 shared a couple of seafood platter, mostly of fried items but nice all the same. I risked the salad and was delighted to find... More
