Description: 50's Prime Time Café serves classic American comfort food in a TV-themed setting. The restaurant sits across from Echo Lake in Disney's Hollywood Studios theme park. The 50's Prime Time Café menu includes family favorites like golden fried chicken, traditional meatloaf and pot roast, cooked the way Mom used to make it—that is, if Mom were a 1950s sitcom star.Be welcomed into Mom's family and feel at home in her kitchenette. But Mom expects you to mind your manners, so don't be surprised if she tells you to keep your elbows off the table. It's all part of the old-fashioned fun and gentle ribbing that's served up along with the food.TV Tables and Tune-In LoungeFor a special treat at 50's Prime Time Café, grab a "TV Table" that seats up to 4 diners and has a television next to the table that broadcasts clips from popular prime time sitcoms circa 1955 including "Father Knows Best" and the original "Mickey Mouse Club."Bop into 50's Prime Time Café for lunch or dinner. Cocktails, wines by the glass and frosty beers are available from Mom for Guests 21 years of age and older, or relax in the Tune-In Lounge full-service bar and sip Dad's Electric Lemonade or Grandma's Picnic Punch. From the mid-50s knick-knacks and memorabilia that decorate this restaurant to the dessert menu displayed through viewfinder toys, nostalgia is the main ingredient at 50's Prime Time Café.

I'm a huge fan of the atomic age, but it's before my time, so the chance to dine retro at 50's Prime Time Cafe was too good to pass up, the only problem was I had been warned about the schtick and thought it might detract from the experience. We were very lucky, we got a wonderful seat next to... More

First off, its like being in an old persons house, I get that's the idea, 50's style, but at the same time a lot of the seating is facing a wall or not even in a "kitchen" or "dining room" setting! the host was awesome, he played a smart a@# and I played along, he gave us "the best table... More

We chose this restaurant partially because it was our understanding that the waitresses would sort of tease you. It sounded like fun. The food was good and the service was excellent but there was no teasing. When we asked what was up our waitress said that they'd been asked to tone it way down because of complaints from guests who... More

First time eating here. Great food and staff. Loved being treated like a kid and seeing people told off for not eating their veg. My one bad negative comment would be you can't just turn up and try and get in. You have to book in advance. We were lucky when trying to book online a space came up suddenly,... More

The building itself is fun, 50s through and through! It's meant to feel like your in your mams kitchen and it does! (apart from the fact that it's crazy busy... All the time!) our waitress was fun and played the part of our aunt. My hubby didn't eat his vegetables and she came back and tried to "aeroplane" the food... More

We ate in the Tune In Lounge. The service was great, none of the tongue-in-cheek humor, though we would have welcomed it. Our chicken dinners were yummy, the greens tasted homemade and the chicken was fried to perfection. I could take or leave the potatoes. It would probably be better with Mac & cheese. I'm not entirely comfortable paying $20... More

You have to go into the place realizing that it is not your typical "cheerful" experience. These people enjoy their job, and that entails yelling at the "kids" at the table, us. They used to thrive on putting the kids in time out for not finishing their veggies, or for putting their elbows on the table. This time seemed a... More

Another Disney meal we enjoyed. The food was good, and our waitress was brilliant (even though she confused the Geordie accent for a Scottish one). The theme of the restaurant is carried out very well, and it seemed very popular. It would be brilliant if you could use this in the Fantasmic dinner package.

My main complaint with all Disney sit down dining restaurants is the non-availability of small portions and sandwiches (other than burgers) for lunch. To avoid a dinner type meal at lunch in this restaurant, you need to order appetizers. When will Disney offer small plates? If you want to go here just for the theming, it's fun once.

We really had a good time at the 50’s Café. Our waitress Patti was incredible. The kids enjoyed the 50’s era setting and mom and dad enjoyed the kids being called ‘Skippy’, ‘Junior’, ‘Pumpkin’ and ‘Scooter’. When Patti spoon fed our 17th year old his ‘greens’ to make sure he ate them it was hilarious! The kids were instructed to... More
