Very nice dinner

My husband and I had a lovely dinner here last evening and although we were there last customers to come in and they would be closing soon they never made us feel rushed and or annoyed that we were coming in shortly before they would be closing. We both had a veal dish and they were excellent and a... read more

Little has changed in the year since we last patronized Cafe Trastevere, and that's a good thing. The menu hadn't changed much, nor had the staff. The food is perfectly prepared and reasonably priced. The setting is is cozy, and Nat King Cole and Doris Day hits fill the air (at a reasonable volume). It's a small venue and can... More

The Best Zuppa de Pesce. For $28.00 this is the best deal in town. 85% seafood 15% sauce and pasta, the way it should be. This is a small Italian restaurant. You can eat inside or out. I have only been here a few times but it is always excellent. The management and staff are not personality driven people. Don't... More

This restaurant has been around for a long time but I would always forget it when I was looking for a place to eat. I wasted a lot of years of excellent Italian food by not going here! The interior is intimate and inviting. The staff are helpful and the food is absolutely delicious! Spouse ordered lasagna which was a... More

Hard to believe but a couple of men from Nice, France and Porto, Portugal have managed to rock Italian cuisine as good as any Goomba! This coming from a thoroughbred Italian who knows what an excellent dish should taste like. We keep coming back because they deserve the following! Way to go Philippe and Santos!

I was born and raised in Rome, Italy and I believe I can really tell if food is authentic italian or not and this is not. I had a voucher of $40 to spend on food so I tried pasta amatriciana which is nothing but overcooked pasta with tomato sauce on top and onions here and there and something else... More

Very homey (like the old days; sort of a private house converted into restaurant feel; used to be some in California or New England like this). Good food; pretty wide selection for a smaller venue. I had Veal Picatta, and it was good; not the best-ever, but solidly good. Prices varied (about 20 for the veal dishes; lasagna around 14;... More

Santos was our waiter and he was fantastic! Tried to order 2 different bottles of wine but they were out so we settled for a glass of good wine. Calamari is good. Veal Picatta and Veal Marsala are fantastic! Tiramisu the best ever. We will be back!

We have visited this establishment quite a few times in the past five years, we keep returning and are not disappointed, a few of the same staff are still there and the food is fresh, hot and tasty, we will return!

I found out about this restaurant on restaurant.com. After googling it I realized it was only a couple of blocks from the Dr. Phillips Center for the performing arts. What a great way to have dinner before a show. It's an adorable tiny quaint little Italian restaurant. It has a small parking lot in the rear that is free. The... More
