Good Gator!

The restaurant is a little hard to find, but worth the search. The gator was fresh and well seasoned. The grouper was well-prepared and the scallops were not only delicious, but plentiful. The restaurant is casual and there's plenty of parking.

I have visited Lightsey’s on two occasions. During my first visit the waitress recommended the whole catfish. The fish, as the name implies, is cooked whole with bones and fins. This fish was delicious, full of juicy meat and covered with crispy breading made with a mixture of spices. This is a dish where you have to do some work... More

We stopped for lunch at Lighsey's as we were driving from Florida's west coast to the east coast after seeing the reviews on Trip Advisor. The place is kinda funky and cool, and, we understand that it's absolutely packed during snowbird season. We're assuming that's because this is Okeechobee and there really aren't many good eateries about. The service was... More

We value each customer's opinion and see that your experience is not what you (we) expected. Lightsey's historically has received many great reviews about the fresh Lake Okeechobee catfish that we season with a special blend created over 30 years ago. We understand that you ordered the "Monday Catfish Dinner Special". This meal includes 1/2 lb finger fillets, 1/2 lb... More

We visited on a Friday evening when they were very busy but had great seats on the patio. Even tho the servers were busy we still had great service. All three of us had the all you can eat catfish fingers, slaw and sweet potato fries. Everything was good, the slaw is a bit unusual. They use their own house... More

And atmosphere that at one time was very good. It seems as if the restaurant Lux revenue to provide proper training and service to customers, food is above average better than mediocre. Limited wine list . adherence to standards, or high standards of food presentation and product are only lackluster because of lack of experience.

We went for lunch. It was not crowded, which is a delight this time of the year in Florida. The food was fresh and really top notch. They had drink specials and the staff was friendly. It is not a fancy restaurant, but it was clean. We live a distance away, but were visiting family and will definitely return for... More

April 5 2015 . A friend took me there for my first time. About a 90 min drive from Palm Beach. There were 4 of us and we all ordered the 10lb oyster platter. 30 Oysters on the half shell of various sizes from very small to very large. Cost has gone up from $19.95 to $25 dollars. I think... More

Thank you for your in depth review of Lightseys. It surprises us that you found our ten pound platter to be over priced. When pricing our raw oysters, we take into account pricing in neighboring areas; for example, the Palm Beach area where you're from generally serves a half dozen oysters for about 18 dollars, making our platter an unmatched... Was recommended this place by a local coworker. Wasn't disappointed at all other than when I ordered the Sampler, and they didn't have the "nips". Other than that we had a good meal with pretty scenery. Okeechobee in the background and the boats at the ramp. Would pass the name of this place off to others to try out for... More

We appreciate you visiting Lightsey's and we are happy to hear you were pleased with your dining experience. Catnip's are one of our oldest and one of our most unique menu items and the preparation process is delicate and takes about two days to accomplish. So when we do run out we are at the mercy of time before we... More

All of us liked our dinners, very good food. But, the menu is weird and difficult to determine whether you are ordering an entrée, snack, small plate. They need to redesign it. I had the Spinach Salad with blackened sea scallops and plaintains....yummy.

I recently went to this restaurant I have heard so much about, I was Pleasantly Surprised at the food, and service. My Husband ordered the Gouda burger, Which Mind you is 3/4 of a pound for only 13.75, and It actually came with bacon and the cheese.. Now and days at restaurants you get a whimpy 1/4 pound beef patty... More
