mom and her boyfriend took us out to dinner to Lightsey's; it is one of their local favorites. We got there early so didn't have a wait. we had the shrimp dinner and oyster dinner. Love that the fry batter is so light with each bite of food we got a lot of shrimp or oyster with just a light... More

This was our second visit to Lightsey's but this time went for the Sunday buffet. Our guests had the catfish all-you-can-eat dinner and we tried the buffet. Two soups to choose from (both delicious), cole slaw, raw oysters, lightly breaded shrimp, gator, catfish fillets, whole catfish, mullet, fried green tomatoes, and few other items, The hushpuppies are wonderful, too! The... More

Our son and friend came to town, we wanted to show them some local color, seeing as he had worked there while in High School we chose Lightseys and were not disappointed. Everything ordered was great . If you have a chance try their fried pumpkin bread, their hush puppies are great too. We did have awhile to wait, but... More

Had lunch here two weeks ago and stopped for an afternoon snack today. Had oysters, shrimp and gator. Shrimp were lightly breaded and fried, very good. Gator was tasty and tender. Oysters Rockefeller were no longer on the menu, but they made them for us anyway. Delicious. Service was excellent. You wait a bit for your meal but everything is... More

Stopped here for lunch checking out potential fishing spots. Really good soup--husband loved his mushroom and oyster stew and the crab and corn chowder was good too. Fried oysters are one of my favorites and theirs were done how I like them--lightly battered and still tender inside. Catfish fingers were really good too. Lunch portions had us packing a box,... Haven't had good ones in years, but Lightsey's has excellent frog legs. The other local favorites are oysters and catfish and the specials are always good.

We stopped for lunch here before our scheduled airboat ride near the Okeechobee. What a wonderful meal we all had! Three of us ordered the pompano fish, which was excellent! The fried oysters were crunchy, sweet, and tender. The hush puppies were way too good to ever use to hush up a puppy! Yummy, yummy collard greens and fresh, beautifully-seasoned... More

I've been going to this restaurant for a long time. A few years ago the food quality was not so good for about a year then it got really good again. Not sure what happened, but what ever it was they fixed it. My wife and I always share a large platter of oysters and a couple of sides. My... More

Lightsey's has been making drastic and necessary changes to insure that our customer is getting a more pleasurable and consistent experience when they dine out with us. You were correct about the buffet being every Sunday by the way and it is all you can eat but we don't limit our oyster to just customers who order the buffet. We... More

As locals we have eaten here a few times and always come away underwhelmed. Their menu is limited and their prices are too high. Table service is equally mediocre. The bottom line is there's no compelling reason to drive all the way out to Lightsey's when you can get a less expensive mediocre meal close to home.
