Description: You need to experience this place at least once in your lifetime. You pull up to an unassuming PINK building, Panama Hattie's, somewhere during your first beverage and the homemade bread and whipped sweet butter you realize, I'm on vacation. After dinner you jump on a moonlight water cruise just to feel the salty wind in your hair and the good vibes in your belly from dinner. You pass by the Rum Bar's tiki torches and bonfires and it them hits you, this place is part of Panama Hattie's as well! Wow. This place is like Mary Poppins's bag! Your not in Kansas anymore, you are at Panama Hattie's and the Rum Bar, and I don't think you want to leave anytime soon. Enjoy.

Many a Sunday afternoon spent at Panama Hattie's ....sipping drinks...watching the boats go by. Unfortunately now that the restaurant is closed: We traveled south to Frigates and enjoyed a Lazy Sunday afternoon sipping Piña Coladas and Bloody Mary's enjoying a delicious fresh catch lunch watching the boats go by under the bridge. Hattie's was great but give Utiki ( north... More

Panama Hattie's WAS WONDERFUL!! Now closed, sold to a developer to build condos and increase traffic!!!...So go to Season's 52 across the street for good unique food (also right on the water) or to Fridgates, about a mile a away for good FRESH seafood (on the water).

This restaurant is now closed. All that's left is the wonderful memories of dining here using "Hattie's bonus bucks" & the free boat ride after dining. The sand bar with the fire pits & live music (next door) will be missed too. I wish "Hattie's" would relocate.

End of an ERA. Panama Hattie's has closed it's doors and the Rhum Bar is no longer. Property was sold. New Complex is "Proposed" with much opposition. Time will tell what is next for this location.

main courses are fantastic...there side dishes need some help. I would go back and have though...free boat rides before 8:30 and they are very entertaining.

As of this past Monday, Panama Hattie's is no longer in business. A new waterfront complex with new restaurants, condos and businesses are going to be built on the site. Another Florida landmark restaurant gone.

Unfortunately after 27 years, Panama Hattie's closed this week to make way for a new boutique hotel, restaurants and shops. Ate there several years ago and really enjoyed it. Beautiful setting overlooking the Intracoastal.

The atmosphere is fun - picnic tables with your feet in the sand. But, the food is barely average. On a recent Saturday lunch time, the bar and food service were very slow - our guess was that the bartender was very new and could not handle multiple orders. They brought the appetizer at the same time as the entrees... More

It seems like Panama Hattie’s has one – five star reviews, and we bet the critical reviews are from first timers. Know that Panama Hattie’s is within minutes of several Five Star restaurants. Panama Hattie’s is a pub, with pub grub in a Florida Keys laid-back atmosphere. However, Panama Hattie’s is a family and kid friendly pub. We prefer to... More

This location is great, but that is the only thing this restaurant has going for it. The food was horrible! My snapper was dry and the fish was substandard. I couldn't eat half of it....a real chef would have trimmed the junk off the fish and thrown it in the garbage. It was served over a giant hunk of white... More
