I had lunch here yesterday and was well satisfied. I sat outside, so I can't describe the interior, but outdoors had clean tables and I read some of the dollar bills on the wall while sitting there. My server was friendly and waited on me immediately. I ordered the Mexico City enchiladas and he said it was a good choice... More

Enjoyed the outdoor seating at Cantina Captiva. Wonderful guacamole and salsa. Appreciated the fact that we had the choice of wheat or corn tortillas - being wheat-free eaters. Also had the chicken/beef fajitas. Great grilling sauce. Courteous service. Relaxed atmosphere. Dog friendly.

Enchiladas and tacos were very good as well as the Negra Modelo. It was not crowded as we arrived shortly after opening. Homemade salsa was excellent. Would return again if we return to the island.

After eating seafood for over a week, I wanted Mexican food so I drove from Sanibel to have it. I was the only one in the restaurant because it was after lunch and well before dinner. I was so glad that I took the trip and thoroughly enjoyed the food. The chips and salsa were really good and I ordered... More

Close to South Seas Island Resort and really good food. So good we ate there twice during our stay at SSIR. The first time my wife and I shared a fajita platter with chicken and beef. Was delicious. The second time my wife had two tacos, beef and chicken, we she said were great, and I had the best burrito... More

We visited the Cantina for the first time this October. We went and had the nacho's and some drinks in the late afternoon. The place was nice and the service and food was good. I'm really not a "Mexican food fanatic" but my wife loves it. Oh, we also had some romaine lettuce wrap thingies which were decent. My wife... More

Mexican food, served the way we like it. We had a great waiter who was with us when we needed him, without being intrusive. He was also very accommodating to unique requests. The outside dining area is as interesting as the inside. This restaurant is a very short walk from McCarthy's Marina.

We stopped in for lunch and it was pretty empty, which was nice. The chips and salsa were great, the salsa is a chunky fresh salsa. I ordered the mini burritos and my husband had the shrimp lettuce wrapped "tacos". He said it was the best thing he'd had all week. Service was decent. We'd definitely come back.

We did not plan to go to dinner here but were glad we did. Delicious Mexican food. the Salsa was excellent. I suggest getting rid of all the old dollar bills and giving the inside a fresh coat of paint. it would update the place and feel cleaner. The bills give is a college dive feel. Still worth going for... More

The people at Sealife Congress Jewelers pointed us toward Cantina Captiva and I'm very happy that they did. I wasn't very hungry so I skipped most of the chips but used them to properly serve myself some of the fresh salsa -- very very good! Then I had one crispy chicken taco and rice and beans. It was all very... More
