Elegant full service restaurant with tablecloths, professional servers and beautifully prepared food. Good wine list. Only downside is a small menu but definitely recommended for a special dinner

Liked everything we ate except the hash browns seemed like they were constantly reheated and about 3 days old.

Very much reminded me of the old Florida hotel dining rooms - in regards to décor. Good service and good food.

Had our welcome dinner for guests at our wedding and the food was perfect, everyone of the 20 people attending had nothing but great things to say about the items selected from the menu. Service was great, very attentive staff. Will definitely return. Thanks again Captiva House, a huge part of our special weekend! Chuck and Sarah 121314

This place is as close to a five star restaurant as one can get. We were not expecting this on Captiva. The crispy duck was excellent. The steak was perfectly cooked, but may have been a little 'overspiced'. The service was excellent. (Thanks Eric). We would have been back the next night, except that the Crows Nest next door was... The atmosphere at this restaurant is a bit more formal than many of the other Captiva eateries. But I found the food and the service to be pretty good, and would return. Very quaint inside and out.

The Old Captiva House restaurant is known as being one of the staple restaurants on Captiva Island, but my impression was somewhat different. For starters, the atmosphere is slightly too formal for my own taste, and the largely white coloration of the inside of the building, almost in the style of a plantation house, is not my favorite. But, that... More

Great food and a very extensive menu. The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and supper, and we especially enjoyed the large continental breakfast buffet. You can order wonderful hot breakfast entrees for $8.00, and it will still include the continental buffet. We had 2 dinners at the restaurant and both were delicious. The first night I had the boiled... More

We booked a table here because we had an afternoon sailing charter booked & decided it would be nice to eat in Captivia instead of Sanibel which is where we are staying. I'm so glad we did, the food, service , setting, & staff are exceptional. It's definitely worth a trip out to the island. We have eaten at several... More
