...but wow. Great seafood, great wine list, great service. We were able to make a reservation, which is highly recommended. It's small. I believe all of the seating is outdoor, but it's sheltered and warm. We were greeted quickly and our drinks quickly delivered. My husband and I shared the crab cakes, which were delightful. Also brought to us was... More

We noticed this restaurant on Trip Advisor as the best kept secret in Captiva. I am not sure it is a secret anymore as I recommend reservations. The place is deceiving but make do not let the fact it is not on the water deter you. I had the "famous" paella and was one of the best i have ever... More

We live on the Gulf and get all of the seafood we want. The folks we were with apparently don't so we went here for a group dinner. Make no mistake, the food was good, even for those of us who eat a lot of it. My wife got the paella which was terrific and I had grouper which was... More

Great place, great service, great food, great music (listening to some Glenn Miller as I write this). Well worth the drive over from Sanibel to get a quieter, better, more enjoyable meal. Recommended!!

Stop here, yes, just do it. It's not super cheap but it's not wallet busting either and you will NOT regret whatever you spend. I can speak VERY highly of the Paella, the triple tail and the Gumbo, they were all, in a word, superb. It was in fact probably the best Paella I have ever had - the portion... More

After many very good meals elsewhere, this was our last dinner in the Captiva/Sanibel area and it couldn't possibly have been better. Even though it was a bit cool, we were very comfortable on the porch, and were warmly welcomed by the staff. They gave excellent advice regarding available wines, and timed service perfectly. As everyone else has said, the... More

I visited Sunshine on a recommendation from a friend and I have to say I was extremely happy with the result. My girlfriend and I shared a lovely meal of complimentary bread (with olive oil + balsamic, as it should be), seafood gumbo (delicious), shrimp and scallop appetizer (fantastic, particularly the scallops!), then our entrees of macadamia-crusted grouper and mashed... Outdoor-only seating has a nice ambiance, halfway between cute and classy. The waitstaff was really friendly and helpful with deciding what to order. I like drinking wine, but don't know much about it - our server steered me and my bf towards two amazing and reasonably priced glasses, one red and one white. The scallops and shrimp appetizer with tomatoes... More

This rated highly on TripAdvisor for a good reason. The food was very good and the service was truly excellent. The Cobia special was especially tasty. Great bread and dipping sauce. Very little inside seating, so get a reservation and enjoy the outdoors!

A great dinner--appetizers included goat cheese salad, her imp cocktail, followed by outstanding mains--cobra fish, delectable then a melt in your mouth key lime pie. We are regulars--coming from three different cities--and this place ranks first here with all of us.
