I had the red snapper with corn meal coating and caper sauce. I thought it was moist and tasty, the br thought otherwise. He had the pork chop as recommended but that didn't cut it either for him. We split the cheesecake, delish! Oreo crust with layer of dark chocolate on top. Not sweet at all and a perfect finish... More

By far the best restuarant on Captiva. The wait staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The food was outstanding. Perfect for a date night. One gets the feeling of family when eating at this facility. Outstanding job goes out to Nick and to Robin. I will definitely be revisiting this restuarant.

Myself and my partner visited The Sunshine Seafood cafe on the 19th October and had a wonderful time. Robin gave us a lovely warm welcome and told us some lovely stories about Captiva, when we told her that we fancied some fresh stone crab, even though they did not sell it there she told us that a partner restaurant sold... We have been meaning to try this place for a while based on the top TA ranking for Captiva. High expectations were sadly not met. Tables are crammed together, no music and no view as such. Still, the food would be the star of the show? Not our case. My linguini entree with scallops and shrimp was lacking flavour and the... More

The food and wine were absolutely amazing! We returned for dinner on a second night. My family enjoyed exquisite mussels, the best paella I've ever had, and perfectly prepared triplefin, yellowtail and scallops. Nick waited on us and was lightning fast, friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely visit again next time I'm in Florida.

We've been to the Sunshine Seafood Café several times. On this trip we had the pompano. The fish was excellent. I had mine "bronzed" and mine husband's was plain. It was served with a lobster sauce over it. The side vegetables were cooked perfectly. Unless it's really breezy be prepared for a few bug bites.

Finally made it to Sunshine this year. They are only open for dinner and we made it a point to eat here during our trip. We arrived just before they opened, but were able to get seated on the front porch, ordered our wine and given some bread. Our waitress was very helpful as the no-see-ums and mosquitos were out.... The special was Mahi Mahi coated with coconut and macadamian nuts and grilled veggies. Awesome! Also had chowder and crab cakes - divine! If you're planning on going to the mexican food place next door - don't! BTDT and Sunshine is the place to go. BTW, great service with staff that's informative and fun to talk to.

This is a high-end restaurant, even by Captiva standards, but the food is wonderful. We make it a point to visit here twice each visit, if we have the time. I recommend whatever they are having as a special. This visit the specials were fish dishes. In particular the grouper I had topped with lobster, sauce, and mushrooms was delicious.... More
