Best seafood on Captiva, not the best location

Sunshine Seafood is located on the main street in Captiva and very close to the road and adjacent to the parking lot. Most of the seating is outdoors on the porch. If you can get past the location, the food is very good. I had the sauteed pompano with a wonderful spinach, tomato and lemon sauce... read more

We both had the pompano special. It was fresh and well-prepared. Outdoor dining in a setting that's a bit quieter than the places along Andy Rosse Way.

We have never been disappointed at Sunshine. Tonight we had the fish specials and they were outstanding. There is not a lot of choices on Captiva so we always go to Sunshine for the fresh fish entrees. Just make your reservations in advance.

I would recommend making reservations if you don't want a long wait . Reservations get you seated without the long wait . I recommend the porch dining .Delicious crab cake , fish & grilled shrimp. Well worth the money. Friendly and helpful staff.

This restaurant wants so much to be better. It has some atmosphere, but only if you light the table candles yourself. It is a bit cramped and definitely busy. Seafood reigns here, but there is pasta and options from the 'hoof' available as well. As with most of the Captiva eating options there is a kids menu. Service we experienced... More

I had the best rack of lamb I have ever eaten in a restaurant at Sunshine Seafood. I asked our waiter, Chris, what he was having for dinner and he said he would either have the nightly seafood special or the lamb. I tried the lamb and it was OUTSTANDING! There were 5 of us and everyone was more than... More

This place is kind of "stuffed in there" and the food is ok, but for the price you can do much better. It is as pricey as the Old Captiva House but without the culinary experience, great food and charm.

After several shaky meals here in the Captiva area, I am happy to report that there is one nice restaurant in the area. We were seated promptly for our reservation despite a large crowd waiting for walk ups and our waiter was very quick to answer questions and provide service. There is a decent wine list and a cool selection... More

This place was an awful disappointment and we would never recommend it. We both had the Cobia special entree at $34. Both the fish and the little bit of crab (garnish?) had a previously frozen aftertaste, were watery, and overcooked with no trace of the buttery taste described. The out of season lumps of tomato on top came as a... More

Quaint, small place but very enjoyable and great food. We enjoyed eating on porch and watching the traffic go by. Good location. Staff was very professional.
