A local told us about this little restaurant on Captiva. We made 8 pm reservations so that we could first catch the amazing sunset at 7:50 and then head over. We had been fishing with Captain John Houston of Native Guides, and he called ahead to Sunshine to ask for the reservation, and for them to prepare the fish we... More

We have been enjoying Sunshine Seafood Cafe on Captiva for several years. They had a dip in quality last year, but seem to have bounced back nicely. It is a small intimate restaurant, suitably funky, that serves great seafood entries for lunch and dinner. They also take reservations which is important. One needs to reserve several days in advance during... More

3-30-14 This is a gem that we fell upon by chance driving around Captive. I'm so glad we did! The food was really fantastic! Well thought out food, great presentation, flavorful, and cooked perfectly. The staff was very courteous and provided attentive, informed service. It is more expensive but worth it! One of the best meals, by far, the entire... More

Good Food. Sat on the porch. Had a nice meal. Very nice server. Felt much better than being fleeced at the Green Flash.

This place has such a nice, local island vibe. Our lunch was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect after a morning on the beach. When you want to take a break from the resorts, this is the place to go. Good for our family -my two teenagers loved it. Would also be a great place to have a glass of... More

At the end of a long day and fighting traffic, we made it to the logical end of our trip...captiva island. When we hit the end, we turned around and dreaded the long drive back without food. We saw the sign that said fresh seafood so decided to stop. Located in a very congested area where parking is a challenge,... More

Their Eggs Captiva (Eggs Benedict on crab cakes) is delicious as was everything else I've had there. My last visit I had their Creme Brulee ... OMG! Good thing I didn't have it earlier because that's all I would have wanted to eat. The staff is professional yet friendly. We always feel like we're visiting old friends. I vacation in... More

We have never been to Captiva and there was an hours long wait everywhere. Stopped here because it did not look too busy and did not expect too much. Shrimp cocktail was very good, paella was excellent, salmon was excellent and the key lime pie was the best I have ever had.

This is a unique place on Captiva with 6 tables in the restaurant and about a dozen or more outside. The meal started poorly with the spinach salad and the seafood gumbo - average, at best. The entrees were superb. The red snapper was fresh and glorious. The paella was beyond belief chock full of fish, shellfish and chorizo -... More

We really enjoyed the food and the overall dining experience. Our waiter was wonderful as was the entire staff. No waiting for a table and no waiting for service. Excellent.
