I have visited the Mucky Duck twice, when staying with a friend in Fort Myers. The location is absolutely superb, and as we sat outside can't comment on the ambiance for eating inside - but who would chose to sit inside anyway with such a location! It's was very quirky to see an 'English' pub but I can assure you... more

I grew up visiting Sanibel Island and going out to dinner at the Mucky Duck with my family. I remembered the fun ambiance and decided to take my family when my husband, toddler son and I visited Sanibel. When we were walking up, I was first excited about the beer selection as I saw quite a large tap. The menu... more

We ate lunch and dinner on two separete occasions: 1. We were disappointed by the grouper sandwich - not very good 2. We had grouper in a butter sauce - it was just ok - the butter sauce was not the best So overall the seafood was not the best as compared to a number of other places. However, please... more

Nice location; beautiful views of sunsets; pleasant patio with mist-cooled fans; no liquor--only a mediocre selection of beers and wines, plus some amazingly sweet, sickly, margaritas made from non-alcoholic 'tequila'. Seating is first come, first served and the approach is strictly mass production to optimize processing of diners. The Mucky Duck used to be a great deal nicer place to... more

It is a nice place to go if you can get a window seat during sunset. That said, don't go for any other reason. The food is OK, not bad, but not worth the prices-for ex, $20 for a grilled chicked salad....the place inside is the British answer to Applebees. This was the least expensive entree on the menu. I... more

My husband and I went there for lunch. The place itself has a lot of character and overlooks the ocean. My husband ordered the lunch special of 'lightly breaded' gulf shrimp. What he got was heavily breaded popcorn shrimp with a cheese sauce on it. When he spoke to the hostess upon leaving he nicely asked to speak to a... more

We had visited this restaurant on our past visits to the Sanibel/Captiva area and found it to be very ejoyable. Not so much this time. We were told it would be a 10-15 minute wait for a table which was actually a 45 minute wait, our server was so-so almost to the point of rude, and when our food arrived,... more

The food was really good-must try the Mucky Duck potatoes. Atmosphere is lacking and the place was kind of pricey. more

Very good food with a great view of the gulf. Service was good as well. Very peaceful looking out at the water. Can sit inside or outside on beach with tables with unbrellas. more

Went here for sunset one night. Not our favorite. It was VERY crowded. The bar inside is tiny and a long wait to order a drink. The loud speaker (inside and OUTSIDE) constantly announcing food orders and calling parties to seat was annoying and kind of ruined the sunset for me. more
