Hubby usually has the blackened grouper cheeks and I usually have some form of Gulf shrimp. have had the stone crab , but I thought it too expensive. food always good if on the expensive side. that said it's after the meal i go for. Two of us had lunch here and were happy with the food. We brought our husbands back for dinner back and were very disappointed with the experience. The fried food was very greasy. The "Sam's Platter" included hush puppies that could not be eaten by a die hard hush puppy fan they were so greasy. The shrimp and scallops were... More

Bare bones restaurant I suppose some would call charming old Floridian. $16 for a few fried shrimp, 5 onion rings which were extra and a little dish of cucumber salad. Served with 2 hush puppies. Hush puppies for those who have not tried this southern novelty are deep fried balls of corn meal. Four of us had them and we... More

Our server was excellent. But we ordered what was recommended because she said it was the freshest fish on the menu. But the fish was over cooked and very dry. Portions were small for the price. Drink prices were ridiculous everything was 6 dollars or more even a bottle beer.

This was worth the Price. No frills, just good fresh food. I love the hog fish. Tastes like snapper but it's not snapper. This place knows it's seafood.

This place has the most sumptuous and fresh seafood in and around Venice - and you can buy what they serve to cook at a later time from their market area! Try the Grouper Cheeks - I never had a better piece of fish ever anywhere else on this planet! Captain Eddy's serves excellent quality and freshness - from raw... More

Captain Eddie's is not on the water, but the fresh seafood is the best in the area! You can always count on the freshest fish and wonderful service.

If you go here expect some good Florida Seafood. Stone Crabs, Hog Fish, and cocktails. Hmm good. Atmosphere is great too.

Great, laid back Florida atmosphere. I had a hard time deciding what to order, many things caught my eye. Our group started with the peel and eat shrimp appetizer - good but spicy. I had the rock shrimp for my dinner and it was delicious! Two sides came with it and I definitely couldn't eat it all myself. I would... More
