Came here many years ago and it's still consistent. Casual atmosphere and great fresh choices. It's been here for many years and it's always been great.

We had soft shell crabs, lobster rolls, stuffed hogfish, blackened grouper, gumbo, and our favorite crab and shrimp egg rolls. Everything was fresh, well prepared, good portion sizes and very friendly service. We will go back and we all highly recommend the crab and shrimp egg rolls!

Code violations everywhere. they don't rotate there food they just mix the old with the new. silver where is dirty and plates to. Go in the walk in and look up you'll see a giant hole in the ceiling. It's unkempt and the staff is trained to rip you off. I would normally say live and let live but this... More

We ate here 3 of the 4 days we were in town. My husband loved the fresh catch choices and I had delicious shrimp. We stayed nearby at the Hampton Inn and it was a pleasant walk from the hotel. Also easily accessed by the Waterways bicycle trail.

On the Gulf Coast and looking for some shrimp, I decided to take in Captain Eddie's. I've driven past this place for two years. Decided on the fried shrimp platter that came with two sides - decided on the baked potato and onion rings. I barely had time to get comfortable and the food came back out. The shrimp were... More

U spend $46.00 a lb. for stones, u know stones. Period. Ordered 3 jumbo. They were frozen, frozen, and more frozen to the point the meat stuck to the shell, the cartilage inside the claw was starting to deteriorate, the meat was real stringy & soaking wet; had to squeeze the water from the meat after trying to rip the... After reading several Trip Adviser reviews we planned to try this place out on our first night in town. Was so good, we came back two more times during our six days in town. Tried different entrees each time and were never disappointed. Will be moving to Venice next year and will be making this a regular haunt.

Used to to be a hot spot, what happened? We decided to go to Walt's Seaffod Shack in Sarasota, but 40 minute wait, so off we went to Captain Eddies, bad move. First of all it took half hour to get there, walked in, no line up, no waiting, no customers, well a few, quarter empty. Must say, food was... More

Eddie's was near our hotel so we decided to have dinner there.. We had their special "Hogfish" which we had never had before - broiled and blackened - and both were delicious. Sides were good too but the sweet potato casserole was a little too sweet for my taste. Service was good at first and then when we were finished... More

Great service, friendly staff, fresh and perfectly prepared seafood. The stone crabs are worth every penny! Maryland crab cake was all crab and no filler. Their soft shell crab was a hit, so meaty and delicious . We will return !
