A Tip for Tippers

Like many restaurants, Salt Water adds a tip to the check for large parties. Beware, that they are only basing the amount on what you really had. On this visit we were a party of nine, requested 4 separate checks. Never changed seats to cause any confusion. When the checks arrived not a single on... read more

Not fancy and not soectacular but an alright middle of the road local restaurant. Since there arent many choices in the immpediate area, you wont be too bad off with this choice.

My spouse and I greatly enjoyed the Steam Pot which included a very small portion of snow crab legs, a few shrimp and clams, and mostly mussels and oysters. Missing was the seasoning of Old Bay or similar spice. Being light eaters, it was all we needed, although for $10 more we could have included a portion of prime rib... More

I usually find places by being hungry and driving by, and that's how I found this place. The service and recommendations from staff was great. My Crispy grouper sandwich was amazing & I'm glad I stopped

After reading the reviews we (party of 6) not sure exactly what to expect but got a nice surprise. The food was very good and the Sunset Specials a great meal at a reasonable price and the service was great. I suggest you check the web for coupons and join their mailing list for additional deals. The table side Banana... More

This really should and could be a staple and solid restaurant in sleepy Nokomis however it has many issues. #1. They are way over priced #2. The portions are way too small for the price. #3. And I realize that some will have issue with this....there menu is too exhaustive. You can't serve everything and do it fresh and well.... More

From the time we walked in the door, the staff was very friendly. We were taken to our table right away. Our waitress was great, very helpful with the menu and was very happy that we were there. Our food was out right on time and was delicious. A great place for local seafood, and landlover's alike

An unplanned visit led us to Saltwater cafe . We got there in time for Happy Hour , which gave us two glasses of wine for the price of one . My Mahi was nicely '' bronzed '' --- [ lightly blackened ] , and my non-seafood-eating spouse had meatloaf , which he raved about. Reading the menu we saw... More

Very underwhelming experience around 6 pm. By 7 pm we knew something bad was about to happen. By 10 pm we were thanking The Great Heavenly Lord we have 2 bathrooms. It was awful. Neither of us were back to "normal" for a few days. Will never go back. Beware.

We received a gift certificate to this restaurant and looked forward to going. We invited friends along and now we wish we hadn't. The menu is very confusing and our waitress was fairly new so she couldn't answer many of our questions. The food was just "ok". I had the garlic mashed potatoes and thought they were rather dry and... More
