Decent food, slow poor service

Make a reservation if you don't want a big wait. Very limited parking. Nice but very crowded atmosphere, clean and packed with tables. When you arrive, there is no place to wait. We have been driving past this restaurant for some time and finally decided to stop in last night. The parking lot was full as usual so we expected we might have to wait, however the restaurant is very large and spacious and we were quickly seated. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful even though she was quite busy with... More

From the outside, this restaurant appears like a food chain, ie huge menu, low prices, daily specials, in/out atmosphere, you know what I mean - WELL IT'S NOT. I'd say the interior is lavish Italian roco, an Italian head mistress ushers you to your linen covered table, linen napkin wrapped around decent cutlery. Imagine water, ice cubes in a goblet... We enjoyed a great dinner here. When we go there again, it will be on a Wednesday , Friday or Saturday. The piano player is there those nights.

Pleasant restaurant and food is abundant. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but there is more than you can eat. When you are finished it looks like you have hardly made a dent in the meal. I prefer to eat smaller portions and don't want a pile of leftover food, especially if I'm just travelling thru the area.

First I am usually pretty hard to impress as I hold a BS in Hospitality from FIU although I left that industry years ago. We rarely go south of Osprey as Sarasota / Manatee has so many places to dine. We fell across this place while driving back from a odd shopping trip. Had one of the best lunches ever!!... More

Traveling through the area quite late on a Saturday evening and with a taste for Italian, decided to give it a try... I'm so glad I found this spot! The Eggplant Parmesan was delectable! Tender and lightly breaded, not greasy at all and served over perfectly al dente pasta (I requested penne). The sauce tasted fresh, robust and flavorful. The... More

We've been driving past this place for several years, always observing plenty of cars in the parking lot at the dinner hour, so we decided to give it a try. Approaching the front door, there is a large take out window. How weird is that? Something doesn't feel quite right but we were committed. So we walked through the front... More

I had a fondness for the original Mama Leone's on 8th Avenue, around the corner from Times Square in New York City. The place was great for atmosphere with the opera singing staff and fairly decent Italian food. I took many a girlfriend there, where I often remarked - "Food's O.K. as you can't ruin pasta with a decent sauce,... More
