Description: Fairly new business which is tucked (hidden) behind McDonald's, off of Highway 20 and Juniper Avenue, in Niceville, Florida. The chef/owner is Brian Cartenuto, a young chef who cooks very tasty, and well seasoned, food in a casual environment. He claims to cook and serve the BEST HAMBURGER IN TOWN, and my son who considers himself a burger connoisseur (and tastes burgers in EVERY town we visit) says it is THE BEST hamburger he has EVER eaten. And, it is HUGE. In fact, all of Brian's portions are very large. I can never finish my plate of food, and take some home every time. In addition to his menu, he offers Blue Plate Specials from Monday through Friday. His "Red Beans and Rice" on Monday are the BEST I've ever had. As Niceville, Fl has so few delicious, affordable and local restaurants, I am reallly wanting to place Tucker Duke's Lunchbox on the map. In fact, I plan to contact that show Diners, Dives, and Drive-Ins. :-)

This place is in an old gas station. Which to some may translate as "cool", but to me it gives the appearance of being dirty. It is noisy, tables too close together and the owners seemed disinterested in putting a smile on their faces. The food took a long time to get to our table and when it did, it... More

Really bad experience. And when I shared with the manager that the bread crust on the chicken-fried (minute) steak was so hard that I chipped a tooth, he just walked away. To be fair, he may not have heard me over the din of noise, but I was also pointing to my chipped tooth. Horrible.

I read several reviews about this place, and we decided to give it a try. Our burgers were extremely greasy, and salty. Way over priced also. For 2 burgers with tots, and 2 drinks the bill after tip was close to $40 ( we tip 20% unless service is horrible. Service was good) I did love the pics of all... More

The food here is amazing! Nothing healthy, but good, good food! Try the Mac and cheeses they offer, and I've had five of the burgers from their menu and haven't been disappointed yet!!!

After a couple years of seeing pictures of this place's food, I decided to drive all the way from Navarre Beach while on vacation over to Tucker Duke's (in Valparaiso, not Niceville, as previously stated). It was worth the drive, I assure you. In hindsight, we shouldn't have ordered appetizers but they were still great, with the exception of, perhaps,... More

Tucker Duke's is NOT "tucked (hidden) behind McDonald's, off of Highway 20 and Juniper Avenue, in Niceville, Florida." It's actually about four miles further west than McDonalds. Tucker Duke's is in Valparaiso, FL...NOT in Niceville! It's about 1.5 miles east of Eglin Air Force Base's east gate, right on the top of the hill next to Coastal Bank. It's not... More

My husband and I stopped at this small shop at the advice of our daughter,a Lt in the Army based at Eglin Airforce base. The shop is not much to look at inside or out but the food was out of this world! My husband had the Rueben Sandwich and I had the steakhouse burger. Thank goodness I didn't get... More

The burgers at this restaurant are great, but there are some definite downsides to eating here. If I was rating only the burgers, it might get four stars. The biggest negative for me was the owner looming over us when we ate. I have eaten there several times (The locals love it and it's popular with the military folk). When... More

I can't believe that this place is so popular. This was my first and last visit. First of all, both my husband and I ordered medium burgers. His came with no pink whatsoever and mine came back so rare that it was completely raw all of the way through. The cook clearly had an attitude about making me a new... More

I've been to this place for office luncheons a couple of times, and was disappointed on both occasions. They are trying to sell a gourmet burger of sorts, using their own sauce, etc, but there is nothing particularly special about it. And they're also overpriced. When I order I burger, I expect to get it my way, but you don't... More
