After having experienced a rude staff at Big Joe's Subs, I have returned to give it a second shot because, I have to say, the food is good. I'm happy to say that on my first visit that perhaps the staff was just having a busy or stressful day. This time they were very polite and actually held a conversation.... More

went there with family visiting from Miami. The food was good. The service was awful! When choosing from the menu, one cannot deviate at all from what is on the menu or the cook freaks out and directs his anger towards the customer asking for even the smallest change.

After shopping at my favorite fishing tackle shop (new smyrna outfitters). I stopped in at Big Joe's, I'm happy I did. It's a small restaurant, with big flavor, and a regular crowd. After ordering the rubin was there, wow it was good, very reasonable price and a large sandwich. It was a fun but crowded lunch. Joe's been there for... More

Called for take out, and was ready when we got there. Asked for special things like to have cheese on the side and dressings separate. When we picked it up they had done it RIGHT! Even gave us a "map" as to who had ordered what! They are always busy, but ususally I have never waited too long for my... More

The prices are very reasonable, the sandwiches were good. A very unique place - nothing fancy. You place your order at the counter and they bring you your food. The service is not fast or attentive, but you just learn that's how it is at Joe's. All of the classic diner food at a good price.

I've lived in this area for a while, before moving here - have been a regular visitor to New Smyrna for 20+ years. How I missed Big Joe's is beyond me. The food is made fresh, hot off the grill...delicious, moist burgers, crunchy onion rings, and to-die-for cookies and brownies. It's a little narrow place. On a corner, with parking... More

Once you get the hang of this place it's great. My buddy and I came down for the 500 and he discovered this place looking for a sub before I arrived. I haven't had a sub yet so can't comment on that but he said it was great. He saw that they served breakfast and, since his sub was so... More

I and 2 others walked in through the back entrance for lunch today, it was very crowded i proceeded to walk to the front of the restaurant so I could read the marquee, and a very short over weight women ringing up and taking orders from customers YELLS AT ME in front of a packed restaurant that she has the... The best thing is the smell of the place - it just smells like great sandwiches come out of there, and they do. The only problem is that the smell lingers on your clothes-usually is not a problem unless you work in a spa like I used to do.

I would not recommend this place. The employees are rude, incompetent, and get an attitude when asked to correct their own mistakes. I spoke to the owner (politely) about his rude employees, and it turns out the employee was his wife, so I was told "too bad, so sad...leave if you don't like it." What a way to handle customers....
