I've lived in this area for a while, before moving here - have been a regular visitor to New Smyrna for 20+ years. How I missed Big Joe's is beyond me. The food is made fresh, hot off the grill...delicious, moist burgers, crunchy onion rings, and to-die-for cookies and brownies. It's a little narrow place. On a corner, with parking... More

Once you get the hang of this place it's great. My buddy and I came down for the 500 and he discovered this place looking for a sub before I arrived. I haven't had a sub yet so can't comment on that but he said it was great. He saw that they served breakfast and, since his sub was so... More

I and 2 others walked in through the back entrance for lunch today, it was very crowded i proceeded to walk to the front of the restaurant so I could read the marquee, and a very short over weight women ringing up and taking orders from customers YELLS AT ME in front of a packed restaurant that she has the... The best thing is the smell of the place - it just smells like great sandwiches come out of there, and they do. The only problem is that the smell lingers on your clothes-usually is not a problem unless you work in a spa like I used to do.

I would not recommend this place. The employees are rude, incompetent, and get an attitude when asked to correct their own mistakes. I spoke to the owner (politely) about his rude employees, and it turns out the employee was his wife, so I was told "too bad, so sad...leave if you don't like it." What a way to handle customers.... First of all, if you don't like to try new things and are extremely picky please do not go here! They do things a certain way and don't give a hoot what you think about it. This is a local place and i am sure they could do without the tourist like myself but they treat everyone the same, you... More

What can I say? If you go in there, you will get a sub. It will consist of some combination of bread, meat, cheese, and vegetables. Just like any other sub. The quality of the ingredients are average. The condiments are what you'd expect. If that's all there was to it, you'd eat your food and shrug. However, the people... More

No wimpy rolls and junk meat here. Quality products make a super sub. Staff is genuine, helpful and will carry on a conversation with you. Closest thing to a "White House" sub since I left Atlantic City. Go and you won't be disappointed.

I winter in New Smyrna and had passed this place a hundred times. Last year we stopped there for lunch and were pleasantly surprised. Has a family run kind of feel.Very clean. People are nice. The service is quick and efficient, and the food is very good. Many local residents come and go and are on a first name basis... More
