Authentically shabby

Although I only gave this a 3 star rating,if you want some decent food in the most laid back atmosphere imaginable with dogs everywhere, Mosquitos, tattooed women everywhere (we're talking body works of art) as well as eating with the smokers, you'll love this place. The camp is located almost at the end of the island. The food makes up for the distance. The service is slow , so be prepared to spend at least an hour or more to finally eat. But once your food arrives it was worth the wait ...seafood can't get any fresher and the atmosphere is truly a fish camp... More

Sort of an out of the way place in New Smyrna. Great Find. Rustic Fish Camp Atmosphere. Long wait but worth it. All the food our group had was excellent.

We come here every year to get the fried shrimp dinner,. The gumbo is very good, also. Very casual restaurant and usually a short wait. Service is usually quick.

Visited in the middle of the afternoon expecting a nice meal with a view of the river. No outside table available which, since smoking is allowed at the outside tables, was fine unless you enjoy breathing in smoke while eating your meal. To enjoy an outdoor Florida atmosphere at this restaurant, one apparently has to risk his or her health...... More

MARK.... the very best waiter I think I have had in forever. he handled our large crowd,... More

Fresh clams, crab legs, fish - all prepared your way and in a casual atmosphere. Dirty rice and hush puppies are so good! Great service and huge portions. Always a must whenever we visit Florida.

My wife and I really enjoyed our experience at JB's. The setting was perfect as the sun set over the water. More importantly, the food was great! I cannot recommend the fish Imperial any higher. You can get several different fish done in the Imperial style. I chose the grouper and it was divine. It is very fresh and comes... More

from the outside you'll either love or hate J.B's! there is a LOT going on - restaurant, bar, kayak rental, paddle boards, etc. we went about 5pm and the place was packed and we had about a 20 min wait. you hardly notice the time as you wait outside and enjoy the views, kayakers and manatees and it's beach side... We are back after a year and again we made 2 visits here to JBs. Waiting staff are always very attentive and knowledgeable. I had a great flounder and fries and Deb had the Crab Cakes on the first night and the second we both had a great valued fried fish basket served with fries and coleslaw. Great beer also... More
