Many of us go to a vacation spot and repeat our dinner spots without exploring. Who wants to risk a night at an unknown restaurant despite what locals say? I remember how some people would recommend a restaurant and you'd discover not only that these advisors were probably eating spaghetti out of cans for years, but the restaurant wasn't up... More

The Spanish River Grill is a favorite of ours. Every time we visit New Smyna Beach we have at least 1 dinner here. The Spanish flat bread and ceviche are delicious starters. We have tried different entrees, but our favorites are the churasco and flat iron steak. The best beverage is the sangria, both red and white. We highly recommend... More

Found the Spanish River Grill purely by accident, and what a happy accident! Interesting and fresh tapas menu, great wine list and friendly, attentive waitstaff. Highly recommended!

great atmosphere with a menu to match! Loved the calamari and fresh Cuban bread. The fish you order doesn't matter, the seasoning makes the dish. A wonderful change from the stand menu that most restaurants offer. The waitress was knowledgeable about wines and matched our meal perfectly. She was also very charming?

Wow, we went for the specials and got bland, poor quality food. First up, the heralded Jelly Donuts.... they looked great but were doughy and raw in the center... We also had the empanadas filled w picadillo... Growing up in a world filled w Cuban and South Texas culinary influences, we weren't sure what we were eating... a light pastry... More

Second time here. The SRG is hidden in the corner of a strip mall, next to a Bell's store. We came right at 5 PM because we had an early flight the next morning. Sat at the bar while the staff finished their pre-service meeting. Had a great--strong-- gimlet--friendly bartender--and then were seated in 15 minutes. Some of the dishes... More

Great Happy hour before 7. Great Sangria and Spanish Cabernet. Wonderful appetizers; flat breads, calamari, civiche, foie grau, fried oysters. Cuban style whole snapper, steaks and all entrees perfectly done.

Went with a party of 10 for a birthday celebration. Great happy hour drink specials before 7. Sangria and dirty martini was spot on! Killer apps to share; flat breads, civiche, calamari. Fantastic Spanish Cab with dinner of whole red snapper Cuban style.
