We went Saturday night. They don't take reservations but the wait after 7pm is about 15-20 minutes. The menue of seafood choices is extensive. I decided on broild platter and you also have choices there. the filet was white, moist and flavorful, the shrimp were arranged in shape of a wheel and the scallops were broiled deliciously. Soup and salad... More

I have eaten here quite a few times. I do not understand the attraction. Usually I get the salad bar and it is ok. Finally tried the prime rib and oysters. What can I say, only average, not worth going to a restaurant for, not even worth the calories. Service was good. Food was hot but no gold stars here.... More

We stopped here as an "in between" stop before dinner several hours later. We sat at the bar had a bowl of chowder some clams and a few beer. I just about fell off of my barstool when I saw he tab, $1.50 for a GOOD draft beer (Stella)-we will for SURE go back for more next visit. Since we... More

We ate here during our vacation based on a recommendation. The interior is a little outdated and the seating made walking around a little cramped. Our waitress was very attentive and took really good care of us during our visit. The salad bar was pretty good. I ordered salmon with lump crab and hollandaise sauce with mixed veggies. The item... To begin with, the service was excellent. Our waiter, Jimmy, was top notch. He was professional, knew the menu well enough to make suggestions, and had a ton of personality! He never wrote down a thing, yet got all of our orders exactly right. That is the sign of a good waiter right there. I had the shrimp and scallop... More

We have been driving by this place on our way to Dairy Queen every year when in New Smyrna Beach. This year, a friend recommended Blackbeard's - specifically the prime rib and the "early bird special". We took him up on it and were not disappointed. We weren't necessarily blown away, but it was very good. The prime rib is... More

Tried blackbeards again tonight , BIG Mistake, it's just gross, the staff are miserable, the scallops were rancid as well as the wine, there was just nothing good about it. We live in new smyrna and are always confused as to why this place keeps bringing people in.

Dined here while on vacation in the area. This was our 2nd visit. We skipped it last year. We do feel that a similar restaurant (similar pricing/salad bar available) in Port Orange (Aunt Catfish's) is much better than Blackbeards. We will most likely skip Blackbeards next summer. I do not like how you have no natural light in Blackbeards. There... More

Never been here before..13 years in the area. First - the atmosphere. Not great, but really what'd you'd expect from a "value" seafood place. So be prepared for a very casual environment. This is no Bone Fish Grill folks. The lighting could be improved. Our server was excellent. These people know how to run a restaurant..I'll give them kudos for... More

First time visit and will not return. We visited on 8-6-14 on favorable reviews from TA overall & couldn't be more disappointed. 1st complaint was poor service, on a Thursday with a half full restaurant we expected better. 2nd complaint was the food, absolutely no flavor at all. Our party had the Flounder, I had the Prime Rib & Shrimp.... More
