Dining at the Mangrove cafe on 5th avenue in Naples provides an evening of relaxed conversation and above average food. They are in no hurry to turn your table and the fact that the entire menu is available makes the evening specials really special. Meats are done to temperature , the fish is firm, and the staff is friendly. No... More

The Summer Special, including a bottle of wine, is a very good deal. The rear parking lot is especially convenient and there's just something very "Naples" about dining on 5th Ave. We had the redfish recently. It was fresh and nicely prepared. Some of their fish selections have been previously frozen but the redfish is local. Our server was a... More

If you know Naples you know that it is rife with pretense, but not the Mangrove Cafe. It is what it say it is. When you sit down at your table your might be in Brussels, Cannes, Paris etc. Somewhat like a brasserie, only a bit more elegant it delivers what would be the delight of any Saturday night gourmet.... You must get the Red Snapper. How can you beat $32.50 for two dinners and a bottle of wine? Great food and service.

Ray the bartender was very helpful and my drink was not on the two for one list so he gave us my wife's drink for free. Being our 1st time at Mangrove he recommended several of his favorites and we took his advice. Bill, the maître d', very engaging and helpful. The veal and salmon were excellent, and the entire... My wife and I visited Naples, Florida to see what changes there were since our last visit some 20+ years ago. Lots of changes and most of them good! We went first to the Visitor Center to get maps and some advice on sights, restaurants, beaches, etc. Then we crossed the street and took a stroll down 5th Avenue South.... More

Enticed by their incredibly inexpensive dinner special we thought we would give it a try. Bad idea. The server was very pleasant and friendly but clearly rushed as the restaurant tries for a very quick turn-over of tables. The special consists of 2 house salads, two regular entrees and a bottle of house wine for $35. I asked the server... More

We drove into Naples and right there as you enter downtown is this quaint little cafe... Mangrove. The have a special that we could not turn down... any two dinners plus a bottle of house wine (which was quite good) for $35. With two starter martinis plus the dinner deal, our total was $58 with tax and all. And the... More

I have periodically dined at the Mangrove Cafe since 1997. While many restaurants come, peak, and go, this bistro like place continues year after year to provide tasty food, good value and and friendly service. I have limited personal experience with many of their offerings as I can't get past what I consider their signature dish, the "My Sweet and... More

We arrived when it was busy but it was slow to get food - and at the end they added 20percent to the bill for the tip and put a big red pen around the total- I paid cash with a large note- and deliberately said nothing and didn't say how much change they should bring- without asking they only...
