Good place to have down home food

The waiter was great, was ordering from the "Friday and Saturday" special and it was Thursday (forgot what day I was in) he let me have the three course meal that I wanted! Received the chicken noodle soup which was very good, green salad (medium in size) with blue cheese dressing which was OK... read more

It is right in front of my hotel, so it was a natural for dinner. Old fashion diner atmosphere with grilled grouper perfectly cooked. The key lime pie for desert deserves its awards. The service was prompt and the staff friendly notwithstanding a full house at 6:30 on Saturday evening.

First time visit. The staff, from the host to the server, made us feel welcome. Started out with a bowl of Mel's Famous Chicken Soup and wasn't disappointed. I ordered the baby back ribs and although they were tender and meaty, I felt they were a little too "vinegary". I mentioned it to the host and he agreed and said... More

Visiting some friends in Naples last week, we had the opportunity to eat at Mel's for the first time. There was a line which lasted about 25 minutes but the wait was worth it. We had $3 margaritas for an "appetizer" and I had the roast turkey dinner with smashed taters and gravy. It was nearly as tasty as turkey... More

While visiting Naples recently we stopped in for lunch and was so happy we did.....This diner is really a diner-full of classic diner décor-we were happy just to be there and then the food came! I had a buffalo chicken salad that was the best I ever had! Chicken was perfect-the salad full of everything-not just some torn up lettuce... More

"4 Forks Plus out of 5": All you can eat Fish (fried Swai) which is what I had! Prime rib, or classic steak was also good with a friendly atmosphere and I recommend the baked sweet potato ... Mmm mmm; all good. A classic 1950 "memory lane" mood and music, and frequented by the famous and otherwise, but "regular folks"... More

We were in town for a family wedding and one of my husband's friends recommended Mel's. We were there 3 times, once for dinner, once for dessert and then breakfast. I found Breakfast the best. The american fries were the just like my Dad use to make. The fresh squeezed orange juice was wonderful. When we had dinner everyone was... More

Not the best meal I've ever had but consistently good. Great 50/60's atmosphere, fun decor, and good service. For those who love diner's Mel's on Collier rocks.
