Great Breakfast

We were in town for a family wedding and one of my husband's friends recommended Mel's. We were there 3 times, once for dinner, once for dessert and then breakfast. I found Breakfast the best. The american fries were the just like my Dad use to make. The fresh squeezed orange juice was wonderful... read more

Waitress was so busy talking we could not get here attention to add to our order. Typical dinner food, The fish was fresh, the rest was nondescript .

Not the best meal I've ever had but consistently good. Great 50/60's atmosphere, fun decor, and good service. For those who love diner's Mel's on Collier rocks.

I guess with a name like "Mel.s Diner" I should have stuck with burgers and shakes. But the All you can eat Fish and chips looked good. It wasn't.. The fish batter was so thick, I had to peel it off the fish to get to the fish. I ended up with 4oz of fish and 2 lbs of batter.... More

This was our first visit. Our booth was too small for four average sized adults, even with utilizing the window sill for our purses. My BBLT (Best BLT) was just ok, the large hunks of bread overwhelmed the sandwich contents. I had requested crisp fries and they arrived undercooked. My husband's corn beef sandwich was just ok. Their women's bathroom... More

Been to both Mel's Diners in Naples, often. The one on Collier is good, but not nearly as good as the one on Tamiami. Mels has excellent shrimp and fish platters - we really enjoy them, and the prices are hard to believe. In addition, the wait staff is terrific and friendly. Bonus: On Tuesdays, there is a very talented... More

We went as a family for breakfast. Very meh. The coffee was mediocre. Eggs just okay, after they were sent back to be cooked properly. Pancakes tasted like bisquick (just add water!). Even the grits were not kissable. But the potatoes were awesome and delicious. Service was a bit dismissive, but I guess attentive enough. This is maybe a 2.5... More

Mel's is an old standby in Naples and Bonita Springs. The Naples location could use a sprucing up, if they could do it in the off season. Otherwise, it is turning out hundreds of meals a day. Most selections are very satisfactory, but vegetabke medleys are overcooked and the entree salads are mediocre.

Holidaying from UK, we wanted to experience a 50/60's themed American Diner, firsthand. The waiting area started off well, with piped 50's music, but then we were seated on one side of the restaurant, and the background music disappeared. When I asked our unsmiling waiter where the music was, he just looked up and shrugged. On this showing, Frankies and... More
