Lovely, lovely, lovely!!

Because the Windsor Rose is such a delightful place, we had to wait a few minutes for a table. But it was definitely worth it! The atmosphere propelled me over the Atlantic to "jolly old" England, the food was also authentic and the service impeccable. It was a lovely experience!

Thinking we'd get an easy seat in the middle of the afternoon, this place was quite busy. Reservations might be a good idea next time. But they were able to seat us quickly. A wide selection of teas were available which you order by the pot. Their meat pies were hearty and excellent, much more than a typical tea room... More

We were in Mt. Dora, looking around and notice several signs around town advertising the Windsor English Tea Room's "Big Breakfast!" Went in, nice enough place, well decorated, clean! So we ordered the breakfast; two eggs, one sausage patty, hash browns. The place is less than one third full or guests. Forty minute after ordering our food, we're still waiting!... More

A lovely restaurant with excellent service! Everyone was most gracious though a very busy weekend with lots and lots of people. But the best was the salmon served on pasta with roasted veggies! To die for! Salmon was cooked perfectly and the flavor of the veggies and pasta was unmatched! I will certainly go back again (4 1/2 hour drive)... More

in my opinion this is ok and I just say OK nothing really there that stands out that you can't get in a small standard cafe / Tea Room.

This is an interesting opinion. Did you actually try anything on the menu? Did you ask to speak to anyone in management about your disappointment? We have a lunch menu that is updated and changed periodically but still holds to the standard favorite dishes that bring us customers from all over the world. The daily specials change every day from... More

The atmosphere was almost like stepping into a tea room in England, except the floors and walls were straight and flat. The food was very good. I chose the Chicken & Leek Pie, which was good and the pastry flaky. Of course, the Earl Grey Tea was wonderful, yet the highlight of my meal was the scone. It came out... More

It was the busiest day of the year here with the art fair and all, and everyone was as nice as can be, but service was reeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllllllly s l o w. It took us twenty minutes just to get our bill paid. That being said, the ambiance is wonderful, very British feel to it. We had the tea for two... More

Keeping with Mount Dora's dislike for franchises and 'boring' American fare, this English Tea Room is a real find thoroughly decked out in all of it's English Majesty. Please allow ample time for dining as they either do not rush you, or service is slow by design.

I was quite disappointed to find that the cream used for scones was not an actual clotted cream. Now, I didn't expect cream straight from Cornwall or Devonshire but still. The scone itself was very good but both the amount (hardly enough to cover both halves) and quality of jam and cream didn't meet my expectations. Was worth a try... More

We do not call our cream "clotted cream" because it does not come from England, we make it ourselves with what ingredients America has to offer. We wish we had a pasture full of Devonshire cows behind the Windsor where we could collect our own cream but it isn't going to happen unless we move to England. Anytime you need... More

Most enchanting atmosphere, very very British. Lovely old pictures and tea sets abound. Teas, tea cups and tea accessories are available for sale. I had a lovely salmon lunch , cooked perfect. The owner and staff were quite polite and asked if everything was delightful, which it was. I will go back every time I visit Mt. Dora.
