If you are looking for a glimpse of bygone days - Micanopy is the town and the Old Florida Café is the place to eat. Driving down the street you can imagine what the town was like 100 years ago. Not much has changed except the influx of antique shops and of course the Old Florida Café. A delightful little... More

Went into Micanopy to find something to eat in the afternoon and the Old Florida Cafe was the only place open serving a late lunch. Was a great afternoon for Chili and they have exceptional chili. Outdoor seating was very pleasant. While you wait you can play Trivial Pursuit with playing cards at each table. There were a lot of... More

We always eat here when visiting Micanopy. We have never been disappointed by eating at this little café/antique/souvenir store. You can sit inside and enjoy the tables with glass tops and old items displayed inside them or you can eat outside, relax, and watch the world go by. The prices are good and the food is excellent, love their Cubans... More

Quite simply, the best sandwich shop I have ever eaten at! I live in DeLand, about 90 minutes away, and I often ride my motorcycle to Micanopy just to eat lunch here. Large sandwiches on freshly baked bread with delicious meats. Oh yeah, and reasonably priced.

There aren't many places to eat in Micanopy but 12 of us managed to squeeze in at the few tables and enjoyed our lunch. I lived in Miami for several years and their sandwich riivaled those in Miami.

The Old Florida Cafe is a great place for a relaxing lunch. I took an out of town visitor on a pleasantly cool afternoon. We were greeted as soon as we entered and told that the day's special was Aunt Sherry's chicken salad. We ordered the version with a chicken salad-stuffed tomato and went out to sit on the porch.... We have enjoyed the food and atmosphere at the Old Florida Cafe for many years. The best Cuban sandwiches, and bean dishes are found there. On our last visit we were not disappointed by the food but the atmosphere was not like it used to be. A little sprucing up is in order. Definitely worth a stop but not as... More

Service was pleasant and quick. The "Bacon Me Crazy" BLT was delicious. The outdoor tables below the moss-draped Live Oak Trees were such a relaxing setting, you could just feel your heartbeat slow down as you chill out. Not a huge menu but choices for most eating styles.

There's not a lot of room to sit inside as it is chalk full of florida memorabilia, but there are tables outside if the weather permits and the mosquitos aren't biting. The food is large portions (had the reuben sandwich) and noodle soup on a cooler fall day. The staff is mediocre--not anticipating needs but not ignoring either. Prices very... More
