I grew up on German food and this was genuine and delicious. I had veal bratwurst and my wife had grilled hot dogs. Great flavor. The red cabbage and the potato salad was also outstanding
We had heard about this German restaurant from friends so we were curious, being German make me somewhat of a critic when the food is not authentic. This food was outstanding, I had a sausage platter and my wife the schnitzel and they were both excellent. We had a German couple with the two kids, on vacation from Germany and... More
Seemed a bit odd to have a German restaurant w/most of the employees speaking Spanish. People were friendly. Prices comparable. Food was different but great. I recommend this place and would definitely come back!
We went here on Friday night to get a beer, and had what was probably one of the worst dining experiences of our lives. We ordered their 1 liter mug white wheat beer, which, when it came to our table, was only 3/4 full of liquid -- the other 1/4 was foam -- and tasted like rusted iron, as though... More
Hofbräu is a Munich institution but there are a few in America. The best is probably the one in Pittsburgh in its own faux Bavarian building. This one in Miami Beach is decidedly more mini but the food is good with some of the same items as other Hofbräu locations. There are also some not so German items. There is... More
We were walking through the shopping and dining area on Lincoln when we came across the Hofbrau Beerhall and decided to stop for dinner. Great choice. I had the best steak I have had in a long time--well seasoned and tender. The side dishes were excellent as well--you can't beat green beans wrapped in bacon can you? My husband had... More
We stopped for lunch here. The outdoor tables were a welcome choice. I had the bratwurst on a roll with cole slaw and German potato salad and some salad greens. This was not bratwurst but more of a weiner. It tasted ok and the potato salad was very good. My wife had the rosti, a kind of potato pie which... More
I can't speak for most of the menu, since we only had the grilled weisswurst and beer, but sitting on the sidewalk in the Lincoln Ave pedestrian mall on a 75 degree day with a fresh Hofbrau in hand is hard to beat. No, it's not the same vibe as when I visited the Hofbrau beer hall in Munchen forty... More
They are cheating with "happy hours". You can not share your second beer with someone, you can only drink it by yourself. So I've ordered two beers and payed for both of them instead of paying for one. In all other places "happy hour" promos are much better. Octoberfest wurst was jus owfull.
Hofbrau is one of the few restaurants I go to regularily because the experience is always satisfying. The food os always great and has that home made taste. The service is always excellent. The location is superb which guarantees a nice experience whether you have a meal there during the day or at night. The prices are not very low... More
