Location is tops but food was good too

There are many places like this along Ocean Drive but we were lured here by the mostly positive reviews on Tripadvisor. We had a pizza which was pretty good and one of those giant 60 oz daiquiris which seemed a little weak in the alcohol department (maybe just as well). The server was friendly... read more

In Miami overnight, wanting to see South Beach...hungry and checked TripAdvisor for a restaurant for dinner nearby. Great people watching ambiance and promising food...but didn't quite live up to the 4stars given by many people...bruschetta was terrific...Caesar was passable and calamari lovey...what could have been better?...if there was really good olive oil for the focaccia and excellent lasagne bolognase...really was... South Beach in general is overrated. Ocean Drive is packed with restaurants, and you can't walk more than ten feet without someone shoving a menu in your face. We stopped at the Pelican, with the promise of a 20% discount by the woman with the menus. Long story short, we had to chase her down after the bill came to... More

Stopped by for pizza and a drink. Service was alright, a bit rushed but attentive. Food was delivered fast, pizza was cooked really well but the quality of the condiments not higher than average. It looked like it was cooked in a hurry. Just came back from the Dominican Republic where just about all four pizzas I had over there... More

Avoid at all costs. I walked by to be hounded by lots of people with broken English. Glad to see you still doing the same old tricks. AVOID

This visit of Pelican was extremely disappointing for us. We didn't get the caring and attentive service we did last time. My 2 friends and I decided to have a breakfast here since our last visit of Pelican Cafe was an amazing experience regarding the service and the food. So a couple of days ago we did go there, got... Called in here for lunch for something not too expensive but with a decent choice including a healthy option. It is on Ocean Drive and a decent spot for watching the world go back. We sat outside on the front and service was prompt. I ordered the Endive salad and hubby went for a pizza - not bad value at... More

We went there around noon, to eat in their terrace. We wanted breakfast, which is served till 1pm. Meal: I had Fiorentine, my boyfriend had Eggs Benedict. The two dishes are identical except Fiorentine has spinach+salmon and Eggs Benedict has Canadian ham. Canadian ham was bad. The poached eggs in both dishes were overcooked (most of the yolk was firm).... More

Pretty good Italian food on Ocean Drive. Decent happy hour- great pizza and pasta. Happy we ended up at this particular touristy spot. Really wonderful service.
