Wonderful seafood

Lobster bisque was excellent and not too heavy. Seat outside if possible to capture the Miami Beach scene.

I did some research before deciding where we should have dinner while vacationing in South Beach. We decided on A Fish Called Avalon one night. Even though we knew we were headed here, we appreciated not being stalked with their menu as we approached the restaurant (unlike the rest of the restaurants on the strip). We arrived without a reservation... More

Please tell your staff to let people take their time to finish their drinks before removing as well as the food. We were completely rushed through the entire meal, people (albeit smiling and very nice) constantly at the table picking up things---I felt like I was in a circus or on a swirling dance floor. I looked over at one... More

I dined here on a Friday night during a trip to Miami. We sat outside and enjoyed great ambiance and views of Ocean Drive. The service was very good, and it was quite busy at the time, too. Our waiter was very friendly, and there was always someone refilling our water and removing our plates. I had the calamari for... More

Hard to understand some of the reviews. Maybe because we ate at 6, service was excellent. Had tuna tartar, grilled octopus and incredible borscht to start. Had snapper, grouper, seafood risotto & a steak for our non seafood lover for mains. All top notch. A quiet oasis in the midst of south beach madness.

I enjoyed the delicious seafood that is worth raving about at this restaurant located on ocean drive. This is one of my favorite restaurants on South Beach with a superb selection of tropical cuisine. I had a table on the terrace with cool ocean breeze blowing on my face and soft live music playing in the background. I had the... More

It may be that I expected too much given the glowing reviews. But this restaurant failed spectacularly, irrespective of my expectations. Service was excruciatingly slow and inattentive. Generally I don't mind poor service if the food is good. However, it took almost an hour to get a couple of basic dishes on the table, and during all this time waiter... More

I've researched and asked around for restaurants to try out in South Beach, and reviewers and locals all have mentioned A Fish Called Avalon! Everyone was right, this place offers super fresh seafood, large amounts and great location. The servers are very attentive. The prices average $35+ a plate. Our bill for 2 dishes was $100. Yes,it's one of those... More

The food was delicious and very fresh and our waiter was great. There was six of us and we didn't make reservations however they went out of their way to accommodate us. We really appreciated that.
