Expensive, but worth it.

I had read about this restaurant and ate here on our first night in Miami. It is very different than the other places on Ocean – white tablecloths, live musicians playing great Latin jazz. We arrived early (around 6) and the place was empty so we had our pick of tables and chose a nice one and... read more

The food is not what you will remember from this restaurant, though it has a great vibe in an old art deco hotel - that seems more seedy European or Latin American than mainland US. I picture drug deals going down in French in black and white in a movie staged in this hotel/restaurant. Service is pleasant, if not particularly... More

A stroll up and down Ocean Drive in the evening is to say the least an interesting experience. In turn finding a relatively upmarket fish restaurant where it is extremely comfortable to eat and relax is not a walk in the park for the normal visitor making their 'debut' on the strip. However, this restaurant had been recommended to us... More

The food is brilliant here, both TT and Mrs. TT had the snapper, which was simply delicious and well presented. The cheesecake is fantastically light and topped ala Creme Brûlée, really good. This is probably the best place eat on Ocean Drive and the breeze ensures that if you sit outside and watch the people passing by you stay cool.... More

Food - everything is tasty and delicious. From the calamari appetizer to the paella to their dessert. Ambiance - try to sit outside and people watch. Especially at night time the breeze, people passing and food is just an awesome experience Service - can't ask for a better service. From the hostess "Morgan" to our server "Luis" . They were... The first day we arrived in Miami, my husband and I took a stroll down Ocean Avenue and got an eye-full! The various restaurants looked amazing; however, A Fish Called Avalon came highly recommended by Yelp, so we decided to go there for dinner that night. Reservations are recommended. There is in and outside seating (we prefer outside). We were... More

Went here with my fiance. Loved the location (perfect for people watching) and fun atmosphere. Menu is a little pricy for what you're given, but we enjoyed it anyways. You really pay for the location and outdoor atmosphere.

We had a very good experience. We sat outside looking out onto Ocean Blvd. Perfect spot to people watch. And there are some beautiful and funky people walking down Ocean Blvd!! The service was excellent. Our waiter, was responsive, and flexible. He came up with some good ideas ... and anticipated our needs. The food was really good. I had... More

Had to stroll down South Beach while in the Miami area. We were with another couple who gravitated to A Fish Called Avalon. We sat outdoors near the crowded sidewalk if you like that sort of thing. Teh food was average at best and the prices were out of line with other restaurants on the strip who served the same... More

Celebrating our anniversary we were seated a a table off the sidewalk facing the street. Restaurant calls this a ocean view but not the case. Sitting on busy Ocean Ave watching the world go by. Exceptional service very attentive but not overbearing. Good Cesar salad, entry was shrimp scampi, seemed like kitchen forgot the garlic. Wife had another average fish... More
