Good food, mediocre service.

We had a good (not great) meal at a Fish Called Avalon. I had the seafood paella which lacked a bit of flavor. It however, had very generous portions of seafood. My friends all had seafood and liked their meals. The drinks (mohitos and wine) were good. The key lime pie for dessert was good... read more

We met family at A Fish Called Avalon for dinner. The meal and service were incredibly good. We shared 3 appetizers; tuna tartar, bang bang shrimp and mediterranean octopus. The tuna and octopus were great; the shrimp were good, but not spicy like we expect bang bang shrimp to be. For main courses we had 6 different items, all of... More

This was our last night in South Beach. We asked for a table outside and we requested one on the veranda because be has passed the restaurant earlier in the week and We did not want to sit near the sidewalk (with the parade of people coming of the beach at 6:30PM) The menu is varied and service was top... We were absolutely thrilled with our meal at A Fish Called Avalon. We felt like it was a little serene oasis at the southern end of chaotic South Beach. Beautiful music and great service. The food was superb. My macadamia crusted Snapper was sublime. Husband's Rib Eye was among the best. A table on the upper patio provided a nice... More

if you want fish in South Beach go to the "a fish called Avalon" on 700 Ocean Drive. Definitely a scale up compared to the surrounding touristic restaurants. Ask for outside sitting. You will enjoy a superb cuisine and the unique Ocean Drive happening.Walk or Bicycle there.Driving is impossible due to the traffic.Service was very good.A restaurant worth visiting.

We went for dinner based on a friend's recommendation and were not disappointed. The food was delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient and our server, Alex, was great.

I don't know what was worst, the bad over priced food or the nonexistent service. While visiting Miami we made a reservation for this restaurant as our spurge night out. My husband and I ordered appetizers when we were finally waited on but after those, when we finally got our servers attention, he actually told us that he was too... More

Right in the middle of the SB action, but not so much that you feel overwhelmed. We had a wonderful dinner here at the suggestion of our cab driver. He was right! The Mahi Mahi with leek puree was wonderful. The service was A+. We would go back here in a heartbeat.

I am not really a seafood fan per se, but this restaurant was a recommendation from a friend and I was absolutely blown away. This friend was a former employee of the company and raved about the chef and so he set us up and the executive chef took really great care of us. We got a chance to try... More

We were able to get last-minute reservations through the concierge at our hotel and had a wonderful dinner. The food and service were commendable.
